this is the arrivals/approach controller. they usually do a 30 mins period (as I understand it) during peak periods, it reminds of the 3 dimensional chess on Star Trek (original). Its the reason that controllers all retire at 55.

if the wind is 12017G24 why are they operating on the 22s instead of the 13s? I would not be a happy pilot with that crosswind! (yes i know this comment is 3 years on)
