Robert - you're a godsend! I've looked at the slick Somfy videos so many times and their directions never worked. Yours was so easy and I fixed my motorized shade positions in 5 minutes. Thank you for saving me from calling the Shade Store another time to reprogram my shades and spend far more time. Thank you and great work!
Thank you for this video. You helped me avoid a huge fight with my girlfriend. The blind came down on a box and went back kinked in the top. This allowed me to lower the kink out and then reset it. Thank you!
Finally...the one video that fixed my problem. I needed to set my lower limit and could not do it. Every time I pressed up and down, the shade jogs..then "My" where I wanted it, all that did was change the direction of my shades. Very frustrating. After watching this video, the key to my success was letting the shade roll all the way out. THEN performing up and down, moving it to where I wanted it, then my. It set the lower limit and didn't change direction. I installed all six of my Somfy blinds, fished the AC behind the walls, made for a nice clean install. It was a lot of work, but the most frustrating part was this programming.
OMG! I have literally spent hours trying to find a video or documentation explaining the process and this worked! The installation company said I needed to press a physical button to enter programming mode etc. This worked and was extremely simple. Thank you!
This also works to adjust the tilt limits on a Somfy-powered Venetian blind (tilt only, or tilt and lift). Like everyone else here, I thought I was going to have to factory reset the blinds and program in all the limits in again from scratch. Couldn't find an official Somfy video that explains this, and their instruction manuals are useless or non existent. I couldn't believe it was this simple to fix. Thank you.
Thank you so very much!! You saved me over $300 just for a house visit from my local blind repair person. The repairman told me on the phone that they thought that it sounded like I’d have to send it back to the manufacture. They gave up before they even tried. So, I found you and you fixed my problem!!! Thank you Thank you!!!
I can’t thank you enough! For some reason, one of my shades stopped coming down as far as it should. I found your video and followed it…worked like a champ! Thanks again! All is well with the world again 😉👋🏻
The only video that advised you have to run the motor to the limit prior to entering programming mode. Stumbled across this video after about 45 minutes of attempting to follow the manual. Thanks so much!
Yes! Tried the printed instructions. Watched 3 videos. Nothing worked. Watched this twice, second time because it seemed too easy. Tried it and it worked first time. Only place that said to drive to limit before attempting to change it. Thank you, thank you NY drapery guy!
You are the man ! I previously saw 4-5 videos and couldn't make it work, motor would not enter programming mode. No one (except you) mention clearly, that the motor ONLY enters in programming mode (when both up and down arrow are pressed at the same time), if, and only if, the motor is previously run its course all the way up or down. So simple, yet omitted by the rest, BRAVO!!!!!
Another "finally" comment from me! This was the video that gave the magic tip to correctly set the lower limit of the blind, which was to firstly let it run all the way down (even if it's too far), before entering the programming mode to adjust the position. I'd spent hours watching loads of the "official" videos, which were no help at all. Thank you! ALSO THIS VIDEO HAS A CAT!
The other videos missing one very important detail. Before reprograming, the blind has to be in the lowest position. It's the 6th video I checked and finally worked.
The NY Drapery Guy is the real deal. I recommend him without hesitation. Our Somfy motorized shades malfunctioned and he was responsive and fixed them right away.
Thank you, Robert Cardona, for posting this very helpful video! You saved us a ton of headache and hassle having to take a personal time work to wait for service, etc. We followed your steps and got our shade working again properly.
This has really helped, thankyou for taking the time to make such a good video! This will save on our heating bills as our blind wasn’t shutting all the way 🙂
I can set down limit but cannot set up as the blind will lock/jam before it ends its cycle? How to I reset up limit without having to disconnect power (which is in the ceiling)? - Thanks in anticipation
you were able to set down? did you bring the blind up to where it stops naturally? you can also email me at nydraperyguy@gmail.com I will do my best to help
How about adjusting a series of windows with electric shades that do not align, I have 4 inline and one shade is about 2” higher and one shade is about 1” lower than the other shades.
Mr. Cardona, At 0:21 you state "I will be fixing this annoying squeak at the end of this video." I don't see anything regarding the noise. Do you have any tips on squaky Somfy shades? Thanks.
Hello, does anyone know how to make the “My” button work again. It suddenly no longer stops the shade in mid position. Meaning, it seems to no longer work. It will only go all the way up or all the way down.
Jill Barker You have to be careful because you need to be know that if you program the wrong way ? You could damage the shades sent pictures I’ll help you to fix it
This worked with my r28 rts to set limits! But after exiting program mode, the remote only works with the shade for a minute or two before the shade becomes unresponsive. If I disconnect power from the shade for a minute or two and reconnect, the remote can control the shade for a couple minutes before it stops responding again. Any ideas on what might cause this?
It may somehow be in programming mode. Take a pin and push and hold the programming button in back of remote until shade jogs. It may close out programming. If it doesnt work let me know
@@NYDRAPERYGUY8000 The shade doesn't react to the programming button, up-down combo, or up / down separately until I remove power for awhile. Then it will respond to any of those for a little while before becoming unresponsive again. Could it be defective?
@@NYDRAPERYGUY8000 I've held it down when the motor is responsive (and the shade jogs), but the shade still stops responding a minute or two later. Once the shade becomes unresponsive, no amount of time holding down the programming button on back will make the shade respond. The only thing that makes the shades responsive again is to power them off and on again.
Its not working on my remote, I have a Telis Chronis RTS, I push up and down buttons at the same time, the red light starts blinking and then nothing happens
Any idea to find out why their is suddenly no reaction when using the remote? Ive changed battery, but didnt help. Lower left lamp blinks red when pushing any button on the remote.
Three shades on one button. Just changed the batteries for all three blinds, all were working yesterday, came to open them today and 1 opens half way and the other 2 do not work at all. Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat, about to try this method later today.

At 0:21 you state "I will be fixing this annoying squeak at the end of this video." I don't see anything regarding the noise. Do you have any tips on squaky Somfy shades?

yes sir, a little clear silicone will usually do the trick, first locate the source of squeak
Yes John, Im sorry about the long delay in response, use a little bit of clear silicone spray, not wd40 , silicone, just a small spray should do it
The cat stole the show.
What if the blind is up, but won't go down?
Something may be wrong with remote. What type of shade is it. Email me at nydraperyguy@gmail.com

Hi. Sounds like you may need a new remote.
Not able to enter programming mode, the up and down buttons held together doesn't seem to make it go into programming mode

Remote need to change the battery
How do I reset a closed cassette blind to set it back to factory Settings? It appears the reset “button” is hidden within the closed cassette.
