    I watched a few different instructional videos on this topic and this was the one that was easiest to follow and helped me get my awning squared away. Thanks!

    When re-establishing the end limits for the awning I followed the example in your video in which the down (extended) limit is set first, followed by setting the upper (retracted) limit. While this sequence seemed to complete properly I was not able to exit the programming mode by depressing the small button on the back of the remote. Depressing that button did not result in any action (i.e. motor jog) and indeed the new end limits were not correctly stored. I then consulted the written instructions that I had received from Somfy in which they instruct to set the up (retract) end limit first, followed by the lower (extend) limit. When I set the end limits in that sequence it worked perfectly and I was able to exit the programming mode successfully. All is now functioning as expected.

    Thanks Otto. My motor stopped responding all of a sudden. Up was down and down was up. Your video to show how to reset along with how to reprogram did the trick. Thank you very much.

    Hi Otto,
    My motor has lost its limit settings. Although the up & down work fine, the motor doesn't respond with any up-down jogs (eg with Up+Down). I have tried 2x power off to reset but motor does not react. When I activate Prog button, up & down does not work (or Up/Down+My), until I wait a minute or two, or press Prog button again. Any ideas please?

    Hello
    Do you have any idea, what could be the problem, if our motor does just "roll", if I put down (compare video at 2:21) and not piece by piece, or only, while I keep pressing the button on the remote control.
    I will have to stop it by hitting "my" and this does not seem to be correct.
    Also, Up + my does not work then, to roll the motor up again and save the down position.
    Thank you very much for your help!!!
    Reto

    Hi,I have a question, how does the remote link to a specific motor ?So for example: I have 5 motors in a room - how to set them to specific channels? Are there some settings on the motor itself?And one more question - How many channels can I have in a system. For example if I have 50 motors in a residential object - can each of them have a separate channel or some sort of identification so the comands dont get mixed up.Thanks in advance,Miodrag

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +galaba dur Hi, the number of channels is based on the max. number of channels a remote has. The Telis 16 has 16 channels, so that's the max for that remote. But take 2 of those and you can have 32 motors in your system. The motors and remotes work with a rolling code system so that the signals don't get mixed up. When you add a channel, you basically add that remote's channel / signal to the motor's memory. So the limitation is more on the motor side. But you can have multiple remotes to control a motor (depending on the version, this can be up 12, not including sensors)

    Hi, I have a somfy control. I'm trying to get my awning to stay at the most open position. When I press and hold The my button The motor jogs but it doesn't seem to remember the position.

    Hi Otto,
    I have an awning that has previously had a Soliris sensor attached to it . The sensor has been removed and the motor needs to be linked to the household ring main via a 3 pin plug. The motor has four cables coming from it and will be connected to a three core cable that plugs into a wall socket. How do I connect the wiring ?

    Ho Otto - Thanks for providing all this great information! a few weeks ago my 16' exterior garage RTS screen motor seemed struggle when rolling up. It goes down fine. Now if its down and I instruct it to go up I hear the motor click but it will not roll up unless I manually help by lifting the weighted bottom. I have done a complete reset a few times. Limits are fine, etc. Except the motor still doesn't want to roll up without my help and even then it sounds tired. I replaced the motor under warranty about 4 years ago. Any suggestions? It's wired directly to my circuit panel. Thanks in advance!

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark, if you need to help the motor to go up, it's a sign of a motor that's at the end of its life. If it's 4 years old, you might be able to get it replaced under warranty (which is usually 5 years). BTW - what's the height of the screen and how often do you use it? 4 years seems short, but maybe it's a high screen and you use it often (lifespan of a motor is measured by manufacturers in revolutions, not years)

    Dear,
    I do have 2 units of CENTRALIS indoor RTS. i have done the installation and everything is fine. now i program channel 1 to the first and channel 2 to the second in my wireless remote control. my concern how to program both Centralis to work in single button in the remote control.
    Regards.

      @motoriseit  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mohammed, go to channel 3 (for example), press prog on centralis 1 and prog on the back of the remote. Now go to centralis 2, press prog on the centralis and then prog on the remote. Here you can see the video about the centralis: th-cam.com/video/S4RjkGjExYo/w-d-xo.html
      Good luck, otto

    Hi great instructions. My somfy stop at my limit when pressing the middle button but goes all the way out on auto. Any ideas? It's a large sunscreen outside a big window, 4m wide. Could do a reset but not change direction. Could be wrong direction so it thinks it rolls up but instead extend fully?

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tomas, if you were able to reset but not change direction, it might be the case that the reset did not work.
      Also, when you have a cassette for your awning (a box that hides the fabric when everything is rolled in), you can set the limit it rolls out, but when it rolls in, the motor shuts off by itself. That's a special function of the Orea RTS motor.
      With such a motor, you only set how far it rolls out, then make it roll in with "my" and "up" and let it roll up until the motor stops itself. Then press my and hold until the jog, turn over remote, press prog until jog and you are done.
      hope this helps..

    Hi Otto, I have 2 somfy rts motors but the cables are sitting in the ceiling. So I cannot power off them 1 by 1. Can I reprogram them without powering off the one and the other?

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, that's not possible. Is there a way to connect an extention cord to one of them? That would allow you to reset and re-program just one.

      Hi Jacob, you first need to program the motor like in the video. Once that this done, you can set the my position like so: th-cam.com/video/uTcOGXzwz0g/w-d-xo.html

    Otto how do I get all 4 shades to work on my own controller by touching one button

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do that by making a group channel. Which is basically when you add all thosxe motors that you want to control to a specific channel. Here's a video that shows how this is done: th-cam.com/video/MRsRmDMw06Y/w-d-xo.html

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply. When you get a new motor, you need to program it, as shown in the video (set end limits and link remote), the remote doesn't work with the new motor right away (as it's in factory settings)

      @motoriseit  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have them all connected to power, they will all respond to the same signal at the same time. Make sure only one is connected to power and then program it. If they are already linked to a channel, reset them and start over with just one at a time.

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Visacki Hi, not sure what the procedure is, as I don't know what the brand is. However, when the original remote is lost, you always need to reset it and start from scratch with a new remote.

    What could the problem be if my remote is not responding to the commands?

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Claudia A Hi, the problem could be an empty battery (if no LED starts blinking that could be it), range issues (too far away or something blocking the signal), a defective remote (dropped or otherwise broken), or a motor issue (how old is the motor / does it respond to other remotes (if linked to this motor). I would start with the remote (maybe even add it as a second remote to another blind just to see if it's not a remote control issue). If it's not the remote, it's the motor. If you need more help, do let me know.

    How to link it to an Extron AV System

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      tnatiq RTS motors in general are not the ideal choice when you are using another manufacturer's control system. If you are starting from scratch, get regular wired motors and a roller shutter interface from Crestron. If you already have the motors and the Crestron system, you need to program the motors (so set end limits etc) with a Somfy remote and find an interface that basically translates the Crestron signal into an RTS signal that the motor would understand. There might be an interface that can do that, but I don;t kow the Crestron product range well enough to tell you for sure (and which one that would be). If you can find a Crestron installer in your area, it might be worthwhile to ask if they know of the right interface.

    • @motoriseit
      @motoriseit  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Taylor, it doesn't show that as a separate procedure, since it's the end result of a the programming procedure. If you have a remote and a new motor, follw this video and the end result is a motor with the limits set and the remoted paired.

    These videos are great but this product is crap. In the video the remote responds every time. However my controller as well as the second one I have is never this responsive. And programming the thing is an absolute nightmare since it never responded to the remote. Absolute garbage. Don’t buy this product.
