Unfortunately, the video cuts off after Match 5, Game 1. I muted the audio during sideboarding and, regrettably, forgot to unmute it for Game 2. My apologies for the oversight. To recap Game 2, my opponent opened with a turn 1 Faerie Macabre followed by a Soul-Guide Lantern, and I conceded shortly after. Overall, my takeaway is that this deck struggles in the current Legacy meta dominated by Dimir Reanimator. The sheer amount of graveyard hate and splash damage makes it difficult for strategies like Dredge to thrive. Thanks so much for watching - I truly appreciate your support. And as always, keep stormin'!
Not gonna watch because I'm not particularly interested in the deck, but wanted to pop in and say the thumbnail for this one is SWEET. Keep up the good work!
So one small criticism. You know you are not the expert but did you consult anyone who is. I remember long ago there were videos I watched where the experts were brought in live to make suggestions perhaps getting a dredge expert advice or someone live might be more fun than watching this kind of deck do poorly with just a little instinct you have to go on. I still think dredge has legs but it is just much harder to play these days.
Dredge isn't any harder to play these days than the past, the difference is the amount of graveyard hate that sees play has dramatically increased. As for having guests, I don't believe we're going to return to that model.
Hi, good evening! I can't help but notice that you use a Mac to play MTGO, and I'm struggling to find a way to do it. How do you make MTGO work on macOS? Hugs from Brazil!
@@brandonguffey5959 17 years of power creep will do that. Presuming the game lasts another 17, everyone will consider Psychic Frog incredibly tame and wonder why Grief was banned.
I guess thoracle makes more sense because of one ring, but Anger seemed like it would have been good in a couple of those games where you had to use dread return to churn through.
This league is a great example of why current dredge lists now run fetches and one copy of Anger instead of Bridge #4. Stuck at 6 cards for Cephalid Coliseum? No problem. Dead to Wasteland + Force? No problem.
no satoru the infiltrator? Mafuz van Gogh made a whole series of testing and trying to find the strongest list. Highly recommended if you are into dredge
@@TheEPICStorm Thanks for the reaction(and content as always). It has been interesting to think about what exactly the divining strength of dredge is, in comparison to other legacy decks. Nice puzzle, have a pleasant weekend!
I got a standard omni storm list. You can draw your whole deck on turn 4-5, then kill you opp with stoke the flames and thousand year storm triggers. Here it is. This is an all in combo gy deck. 4 chart a course, 2 lively dirge, 3 bitter reunion, 3 impulse, 3 highway robbery, 4 seize the spoils, 3 plan the heist, 2 stormsplitter, 2 invasion of arcavious, , 3 invasion of tolvada, 2 campus renovation, 1 thousand year storm, 1 atraxa, 4 omniscience, 23 lands. sb diabolic intent, lightning strike, assasins trophy, archdruids charm, beseech the mirror, stoke the flames. Its a 4 color deck however once omni is in play it dont matter much. Its standard storm guys! Ive won on turn 4 with this deck very fun. Loses to leyline binding/ enchant hate, multiple counters, and gy hate, and super fast aggro. However i think its still really good for standard, being able to win on turn 4-5 is still good.
Have you considered a video using mono blue Omni tell? I have a "turbo-tell" list with 6 sol lands and 4 petals that might be well suited for the meta. 3 emrakul gets around painter and bauble and can't be discarded & reanimated. 3 intuition main/one side finds the pieces at instant speed. Cunning wishes can be cleverly used in all sorts of scenarios. You can see the list if you want
@@TheEPICStorm I saw the sneak & show one with bauble recently but never Omnitel. Sneak has the same problem as dredge. You often don't win on-turn and your threats get discarded and reanimated. Plus you're too all in on show and tell + pass turn. Omnitell decks usually run too few sol lands to be explosive and bad counters like thwart. Mine is uniquely fast and essentially guarantees on-turn wins. I'll post the list here so you can decide for yourself if it's worth a shot. I've usually either won or gone x-1 with it

Ouch. Man that's the problem with dredge. It can have explosive plays but gets blown out way too easily and has lopsided draws/dredges. Definitely needs nature's claim as you mentioned, but even with that sometimes they can just use the hate piece you claim in response. Reanimator and Storm are MUCH better combo decks in that they only need the yard for one turn and have more protection/consistency. I'm sure you know that. Was rooting for you and even considering putting this back together if it had gone differently but looks like the same old dredge luck :(
I love me some dredge (i even won a modern RCQ with it two years ago!), but something tells me it isnt gonna go well with so much graveyard nonsense going on right now haha
I feel like the problem is that you played to mana lands, it should be a grand total of Zero imo hahaha (i really don't think Manaless Dredge is well-positioned in this meta in anyway, but i love the deck a lot)
MahfuzvanGogh puts up great results consistently in this current froginator meta so dredge deck is fine , just not with the list showcased here. Fetches+Anger gives ur opp one turn less plus you need to be mulliganing aggressively with dredge. An explosive 5 card hand is better than a mediocre 7
MahfuzVanGogh's latest list has 2 Ox and no Satoru because it has basic mountains. With a rainbow manabase, Satoru the Infiltrator is playable even if you draw him and he is a very strong engine.
