Spring is my favorite time to do this! Unfortunately the mosquitoes got a really early start last year haha. They made it hard to enjoy those bank breaks.
@@RivermanTV- Thanks for your response. I moved close to New River in VA & I'm new to rocky river fishing, so I'm really loving your videos. Keep up the great work!
Looks like water levels are still a ft higher than what I fished last summer in the east Tennessee mountains, that would make for some pretty fast water. I think it will be June before we can fish the rivers from a yak.
I have not had good fishing in April around my parts, May starts to be good river conditions and June it is usually full on. Hurt some lips this year. 👍
If you're unfamiliar with the river, it makes a huge difference, especially if the visibility is low in the water. But once you're familiar with a stretch, it's not 100% necessary. Still good to have if your eyes can't see things like a sand to rock transition for whatever reason.
7:27 I love pulling over on the river and bank fishing! Usually have lunch and watch the water. Very relaxing!

What a fishery, great job!
Good fishery. I enjoyed the video 👍
It is a healthy body of water, that's for sure. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Mind if I ask, what is the Collin Special?
It's just a nickname my friend gave a Zman Big TRD with an EWG weighted hook. I've got links for it in the description for this video.

@@BrianSnider-de1tt When big rains hit the river goes to flood stage quick, 10ft higher than normal summer levels.
How much of a difference does having side scan make in smaller rivers like this?
