    Getting a Bomber instead Gatekeeper doesn’t do it for me. Thanks for the review

      I was going to get the gate keeper as the I have a enduro, but it took too long to get in. Luckily a bomber was readily available. I’m happy in my decision

    I love scale vehicles when an attempt is made to look realistic. However, what this Gatekeeper does at 2:32 and your chuckle afterwards is priceless. Absolute gold moment.

    Appreciate all your videos. Helped convince me to get back into the hobby after 30 years and rock crawling seemed like the ticket to just having fun. Building the GK kit I bought around Thanksgiving now. Enough to keep me busy tinkering and tuning and AE was/is a big name ever since.

    🌕 I’ll give it ago... I just bought a clear ecto body for it. I have to figure out a way to do the ecto body mounts. Always have built up axial so this is bit of stretch for me. I haven’t crawled for awhile and I have really missed the good times. It’s a great fun aspect to the hobby. I think this gate keeper is really going to rock. And I like the name. 🤙Thx!

    Just finishing up my build,
    deciding on tires, junk servo, wrong gearing... you know.. work in progress...
    anyway I, agree it's too high and narrow.
    the cage is heavy compared to lexan.
    Wish it was 30mm wider.. Sat 20mm lower..
    but it's fun. it likes to hop over things.
    I'd say my choice of Holmes 3800kv was optimistic,
    2700 is probably right with 20ish pinion. on 3s, but who likes "Right"
    so had 2.2 KR2's 5.65" tires which were too big.
    now trying on 1.9 KM3's 4.75" and they are a touch small... but much better.
    5"x2" tire might fit it really well..
    the hunt continues.

    Like the frame combined with the tube chassis. Opens up possibilities. That said I think setup could be better. Too tippy, too high, too narrow. All can be fixed but shouldn't have to.

  • @shadow7796
    @shadow7796 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I actually like it alot. May change my mind after I build one but it looks like it could be fun on the trail with the right setup. I think those JC scorpios look pretty good on it as well. I'm getting closer to making up my mind for the next build, it will just be an Element cause that's what all my extra parts are for. Good video as usual, thanks for the info

    • @stpbasss3773
      @stpbasss3773 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's awesome I have the kit, I put a mamba x 3800kv setup. I suggest a higher kv than you normally do because the gatekeeper has high gearing, for example I use the same 3800kv mamba in my bomber and the bomber does around 30mph and the gatekeeper hits around 18mph with the same motor.

Also, are you gonna do a Losi SBR 2.0 review soon? (Or when they are back in stock?) I wanna get one of those as well! Also, don’t think you care, but I got the XMAXX! I’m excited to drive it! I made an unboxing video of it if yo wanna see it! Thanks for making great content!

    Bomber with the AR60s is just cooler and more capable... Element just looks outdated. They couldn't even give it a real tube chassis. It's like they wanted the worst of a plastic tube chassis high weight and C channel frame.

    • @johnsland8786
      @johnsland8786 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Gatekeeper is also almost $200 less than the Bomber. It's important to keep our comparisons realistic. The Gatekeeper was still plenty capable for what it is. For people new(er) to the hobby or the casual rc'er, it's nice to have options that are more affordable if you're interested in fun and not ultra realism. I don't think the Gatekeeper is intended to compare to the Bomber, it's just a low-cost alternative. Again, important to keep our comparisons realistic.

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnsland8786 it’s important to understand when a comment was made. The gatekeeper was only about $50 less then and that was with cheap electronics. You cannot take a 25% off sale and a year old comment and pretend to be smart.
      .
      Sorry kid. If you are this price sensitive, then rc crawling isn’t for you.

    • @justinhb26
      @justinhb26 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KTMcaptain Not detracting from the time you originally made your comment ($50 is negligible). I would have went with the Bomber myself, but I just picked up a Gatekeeper RTR from Amainhobbies for $299.99 plus they had a $25 off coupon. $296.99 shipped to my house! I was debating between the Gatekeeper and the Capra, but with the Capra being $499.99 it was a no brainer. I should be able to make the Gatekeeper pretty fun and capable with the extra cash I saved.

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice job, but I can't believe, the GATEKEEPER bursting out with quick power train up the hill,I started laughing how quick it was 😂🤣👍💪 but now it's much faster like a Komodo dragon with quick speed, I'm sold to this product, very well done, but always slow it down a little, this thing is more wild but crazy fast 🤕 and a bursting headache!🥴🧙🎸🎶🎸

  • @1111-t5n
    @1111-t5n 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Anyone who is disappointed with this style set up should know to lower it shorter shock shafts lighter springs also to grab a wider stance offsets are simple a real rig builder will adapt wraith or bomber axles to make up for a desire of width for stability sake. If you are disappointed in this chassis maybe you should build your hearts desire after dropping almost a few dollars you will know exactly what you desire to have from suspension to wheels and tires. And then choose drive line electrics and really know what kinds of things you want. When you buy a kit know it's purpose before you buy so you know exactly what you want your pennies to bring you joy not only building it but trailing it as well. I'm honestly excited about my next build which will be who knows but I may go super mod instead of mild.

    @stpbasss3773 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love my gatekeeper, I'm going to try lowering it on the shock mounts like you said, I've been running it on the middle height. Anyone who wants to make it a rock racer I suggest going with at least 3000kv, reason is the gatekeepers gearing is high meaning it has a low top speed compared to like my bomber with the same motor.

    I will say, you have good reviews but you are absolutely biased to more expensive vehicles. And expensive does not at all mean better. For instance, the gen 8 outperforms the trx4 alllllll day long, and it's almost twice as cheap.
