That opening shot with all the rigs rolling around flashed my brain back to the days of am/fm crystals. No way a wide open event like this could have happened. Ah, the old frequency clip board. Those were not the days.

I would like to go to something like this but the throttle out mentality all the time kinda drives me nuts. In my head I’m like ahh those tires are ganna grip and pull right up that...then you floor it lmao.
Throttle and momentum will get you up more things than slow crawling 😁 It’s just a way of driving that I’ve evolved into over the years of driving.

Is it just me or did the yellow gatekeeper perform a bit better that the black? Are they running anything different. I ask because where everyone helps push the person in front over the rocks, looks like the sharp rock is getting caught on the belly pan, the yellow GK just goes over w/o a hitch.
Just a slightly different line. They are both basically stock.
Orange had more horsepower (3100kv) vs green has 1800kv
Quick question. What mount are u using for ur camera? Its hella hard recording & play at the same time lol.
I drive one handed, and film with the other. I’ve just done it for so long I’m used to it.

The gatekeeper is nothing like a Capra really. The Gatekeeper is a standard trail truck with a cage on top.

There were a lot of hoops the organizers and the campground had to jump through to make this happen. By The Fire is directly through the forestry/parks service, so it couldn't happen the same way crawl 4 a cure did

Considering the tight space in the Gatekeeper, do you think a Mamba Micro X with a 540 size motor could fit in there?
Absolutely, just takes a little bit of space planning. Or adding another tray on the rear towers. Super easy.

Element gate keeper or axial rr10 bomber.
Iv always like the bomber.
But I like that this is on a chassis with a cage on it.

Is this even a question? The bomber is cheaper when completed, bigger, badder, and a 2.2 rig. For $150 more you get a motor, speed controller, radio, receiver, servo, wheels and tires. The Capra is a much closer comparison, but has portal axles, dig, and more clearance for the front tires to crawl.

My only thing with the element is the axles..... I just dont like the look if them hahahaha.... I did make a terrible comparison.
I agree the Capra is a better one to compare.
I have been interested in that. The gate keeper is still cool to say the least.
@@BlindGuyRc it’s cool for sure, and I agree the axles look funky. Axial Currie f9 replicas and the vanquish versions look awesome. I don’t think element has kept up with the times though.

Why would someone get this over a Capra?
This is much different than a Capra. This is a standard trail truck with a cage top on it.
