iLHANA loves poodiepie well it's dying, the mainstream media is pushing their wsy in and the unique content made by the working man/woman is being pushed out, censored or outright removed.
New websites will pop up. Maybe some TH-camrs will stop producing, but most will move to other sites, and more content creators will apear.
Drabswin It is physically dying. They are at risk of losing 750 million dollars in ad revenue this year. Susan Wojcicki is killing TH-cam with her inability to hire staff that can solve the issues but instead focuses on dumb ideas like changing the layout, adding a diversity program, creating dumb add-ons like youtube heroes, etc. TH-cam is not doing better than ever and they refuse to fix the real issues. TH-cam might be getting tons of viewers but they are financially fucking their users and hurting themselves in the process. It isn't doing well and if they don't fix the major issues that currently exist then youtube will be dead and overthrown in 5-10 years and vidme already has a headstart to topple them.

*FROM SOMEONE WHO WORKS IN PR* I agree with your statement about not living beyond his means. It's shocking that after all his years on TH-cam, he hasn't diversified his channel other than making multiple channels. I'm in PR. With the correct PR team in the very beginning, he could've shaped his channel into a decent investment. His started with the Banana video and content is guided towards a certain age group/generation but that age group that was around, is pretty much adults now. Around 2012-2014, he should've made another viral vid to keep his rank. Around 2012-14, he should've been working on his next viral move. There's interesting spikes in his content and I think him making a ton of videos a day, actually hurt him. He was making too many about nothing. There needs to be some sort of demand. If you make vids once a week, you start getting loyal viewers that come back looking for content. More subs wanting to be alerted when you've posted. More people waiting. You can't just post, just to post. You need to actually work at it. If i were part of his team, I'd tell him to stop posting SO many vids at once and suggest that he posts strong content. Content that's been worked on. Brandon Rogers is perfect example. He doesn't post a ton but when he does, the skits are well organized and worked on. I'd advise Onision to start working on scripts. Start sitting on his ideas longer to make sure he executes them in a way that makes them good quality. At this point, he's just trying to make a deadline and he's getting sloppy. He's lashing out. He's ranting. In my opinion, it would take a ton of work for a PR team to pull him out of this hole. He's dug it reallllly reallly deeep.
We're talking: Tons of vids that mean nothing. Tons of personal scandals. Tons of arguments. Poor filming techniques. At this stage and after all these years, he should have a legit camera guy. Nice equipment. Real actors. Give aways. Etc. I see no technical upgrade between his older content style and now. He hasn't hit any benchmarks yet. That's alarming. I noticed this back in early 2015. Had a feelings this is where he's heading. His personal drama brought him up more but once that settled, its starting to look bad again.

It's not TH-cam's fault. Or his subs. He had the numbers but that personality and mindset. The sad part is I don't think he can really save his channel. He's in waaaay to deep. A PR team couldn't spin this in a positive direction even if we tried. He's got years of questionable actions, hours and hours of livestreams, TONS of tweets ..its just too much. He's spread it in waaaay too many directions on waaay too many platforms. Its basically the Titanic at this point. He's easily triggered and he's going to keep making messes. Making the situation worse.

I used to be fan of Greg. I liked some of his humor and liked his videos in general. After the whole ad thing however, everything just really went down hill. Old videos from months and years ago were being reposted daily. I didn't mind that too much, but then came him really begging for money. Patreon came first and that wasn't so bad, but I think after he started to make you pay to watch his videos that was when I kinda dropped off watching him. Yes, I get that 49 cents a month isn't that bad, but the way he asked for it was. He made it sound that if you didn't give him that money your weren't a true supporter or fan of his. He made it sound like people who aren't on his Patreon aren't real fans either. I understand the need for money but the way he asked and practically begged for it was demeaning and hurtful. I considered myself a true fan for a while, but I feel that once this whole thing happened, it shows who he really is as a person.

I think it's fantastic I don't have to even think about him anymore. But it is kind of sad that he's had to cover himself in this form of insular bubble where the only people watching him are the people that love him enough to pay money, therefore isolating himself from the rest of the world & inflating his ego more and more. But in another perspective, I'm glad that works for him because god knows it helps the rest of us that way.
