Matt, while on a buying spree, get a forestry drum mulcher for the Babcat. While not as satisfying as pushing trees over, it leaves the ground clear ready to use for the next project.

Removing underbrush and sucker trees is never a shame. It helps with fire control,water, and native grasses conservation. We removed several acres of "cedar trees" on our property leaving the native oaks and grass lands to regenerate. The " cedar trees" choke off other native species and use more water to grow.

Im watching my beautiful home town get destroyed by development too. Its gotten uglier and more disgusting by the year. Watched apple orchards that have grown for hundreds of years get cut down to become town houses. Watched streams and natural ground water/flooding management areas get paved over and make nightmare floods every time it rains... Full on with a rain tax for every resident because our county council refuses to stop it from happening... I truly hate developers, hate my county council, hate the rise in crime rates... Etc...

Don’t angle the bucket straight down into the ground when you scoop, always go at a gradually downward pitch until you get to the point you want, then excavate the land to that point, don’t just angle the bucket down as far as you can and try to push it like that bc you won’t get far

Texans know that the trees he removed are scrub trees anyway.
scrubs trees are less that 4 inches in diameter anything bigger is not a scrub tree it is a tree. Florida, Alabama,Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia understand this. Just because you can run over it with a heavily modified vehicle does not mean it isn't a tree. 5 ton or not you take on a healthy tree at 4 inches plus and you might find yourself with a substantial repair bill.
So much for "I like tunnel roads with trees on both sides hanging over the top".

Cleaning and clearing the undergrowth is part of the management of your land. You might want to even divide your forest in different zone sections with roads that can be use to slow a possible fire to spread.

Sometimes when you have the throttle all the way to the floor on those automatic transmissions it won’t go in to the next gear just let off the throttle a little bit and it should go in to the next gear tand it makes The shifting a lot smoother

I’ve only got 20 acres and keeping trees thinned out from taking over the whole place is a full-time job.
There is a flail attachment for those skid loaders to reduce brush.
