You might know of it as a sexually transmitted infection that causes uncomfortable warts, the papilloma, but you also might have heard that it can lead to a deadly form of cancer. Both are actually true, as is the possibility that you can have HPV and experience no symptoms whatsoever.

My uncle recently got the news he has throat cancer. And the doctors say it's causes by hpv. So I'm glad I can understand how it works.
My friend do a research on HPV in oropharyngeal cancer. HPV-negative cancer is cause greater mortality than positive.
Hope he gets better soon. Currently, there is no good biomarker to predict early stage of oral cancer. Usually patient went for a checkup and the cancer is in later stage and the best way to confirm it through invasive biopsy :/

My dad also had this and it progressed very far. He's cancer free now but the treatments nearly killed him. Even now he lost the use of one of his salivary glands so he has permanent dry mouth.
My uncle is cancer free now. Saw him this weekend as he hosted a family reunion and he looked more healthy now then in years. He got alot of burns due to the laser treatment which made it hard to eat but he did well. Glad to see him fight through it. Grandma and grandpa don't deserve to bury one of their children and their only son.

I personally got vaccinated against 9 strains of HPV last year (when I was 22); pretty expensive, but better than possibly getting cancer and/or genital warts. And I frequently try to educate people on it since not a lot of people know about it.

@@BlackMamba-lt8oe Still not really relevant; but if you're worried about certain 'chemicals' in or on your food, make sure you do thorough research, and then possible try to avoid them. Personally I make sure I have a healthy lifestyle so my immune system is functioning optimally. But we know certain pathogens and chemical substances are potentially very harmful, so we avoid them or get vaccinated against them so our immune system can deal with them.
(Maybe try to be a bit more specific instead of saying 'chemicals'. Everything is made up of chemicals. Chemicals can be good.)

Usually they get bullied to hell and back which is the reason why they started playing games to start with.
Now they are vilified and dehumanized by a bunch of mainstream media. Broken people are easy targets after all.
It's gallows humor as a responds to crippling depression that is promoted and pushed for by wider society. Which in term creates an identity for these people labeled as "gamer". Which gives them a way out of their isolation and be able to connect which others that share a similar fate. In a way gamers are fortunate in that they had games to prevent them from committing suicide.
So next time you see a young little gamer, ask him to tell you about his hobby. Ask him why he plays it "which he will reply: because it's fun" then ask why the world outside of games is not fun. Usually you will hear a heartwrecking story. If he's not too reluctant to tell you.

just never miss getting annual paps, this way you can catch it in the precancerous cells stage if you’re one of the unlucky ones like me that have HPV develop down that path. For many women the cells never turn precancerous/cancerous - but if they do they can remove it with an easy procedure that only has you out for a few days

Did they mention the colposcopies and slicing away of the cervix for the people who aren't clearing the infection?
I think cancer could be looked at for it's potential (in terms of abnormal behavior) and harnessing that to an advantage while learning more about the initial cause/prevention for a big win here to find potential cure and enhancement.
If my knowledge is correct, i believe scientists have already been doing that for quite some time.

This was the first vaccine that we let our son decide whether or not to get for himself. He was 11 and his pediatrician gave him the explanation of the risks and benefits. This was before we knew how much a risk that HPV posed to boys. He opted to get the vaccination.

Some arthritis causes small bumbs, or wart looking, but,it's actually the skin,is producing too many skin cells,it's not contagious. I see alot,of ppl,in pain,w/swollen hands,and feet,w/a tall tell sign,of a thick callous, and get antidepressants,prescribed. They are in pain,not depressed. Alcahol is a depressant. If,you go to Duke university, and have them preform a biopsy on the wart? You may find it's a form of arthritis. It has other signs,too many to list,but,basically if,your pituitary gland is swollen, and you feel it,can see it,and your bones,swelling,you are shit out of luck,most doctors have no clue.

@Alice Rose Way too much effort. Way too much money. You should have tried burning them off with soaking applications of vinegar (any kind). It's a shallow surface virus, so you could have used any wart remedy and gotten results.

Talking of the vaccines, a vaccine is being tested on dogs to insulate against most common cancers and soon similar vaccine is going to be tested on the humans.
