Nice quick tip :) Btw, if you drag and hold Shift in PS when you move an image from 1 window to the other, and then release your mouse button, it will drop it into place so you don't have to manually align it.
This might be the six time I watch this vid. :) It's great. Mind telling me how you deal with precission on such a large scene? What system units you use also (like what precission and stuff) Hugs from Argentina
fantastic tutorial, only one question- lets say i have a foggy street with lit lanterns (vray sphere lights) and hdr dome and i want the fog to scatter the light from the lanterns- how can i do that?
+Dima Kremiansky you can create a gizmo for each light source (with simple boxes) that will act as a "border" for the fog. just don't forget to add all the gizmos and lights (except for the HDRI) under the Fog settings.
+Arch Viz Camp i mean i have the whole street covered in fog, and i want to have some volumetrics around the lanterns inside the fog, not just volumetrics around the lights
+DewaPoyo You can specify a gizmo object to define the fog boundaries. Just create a basic box in the size of the area you wish to add the fog, then go to the environment fog parameter and set it as a gizmo (you can add more than one gizmos). Don't forget to right click the box and turn off "renderable" under object properties so it won't be visible in the final render.
Hi, does it only work with VraySun? Cause I can't get your result using VrayLight, BUT I have fog in the scene. I can't see it when I override the materials to flat black, but there is fog in the scene. The more I increase it the thicker the fog becomes.
Arch Viz Camp I did what you teached us but the results are not good. What am I doing wrong? The sun rays are not visible like they are in your final image. Help please !
@@nicofirmansyah9271 The final image has really defined lines in the fog where the overlay to screen doesn't show that. I think there are some final steps missing from the photoshop part but all in all it's a pretty slick tutorial.
Thank you for this tutorial. Only one question: How did you manage to get wider dialog windows (Render setuo, Environment etc.) than in the standard GUI. I searched sometimes where to edit this without success.
This is great! I've been looking for a good quick tutorial on this subject! Will try it out. Is it the same approach when rendering interiors with light rays coming in through a window?
+Gramsci you can use the HDRI for main lighting and add a vray sun only for the fog. in the Sun parameter click on exclude->and exclude all objects. Then go to the bottom of the fog parameters and select the sun as light source (turn off "use all lights")
For animation I prefer not to use the environment fog at all unless it is used in small areas like close to a lamp or something similar. Insted I like to render Zdepth pass sequences and use them as fog in the composition stage.
@@archvizcamp Thank you for replying but if you use the method of Zdepth, would it look like the "weather" is foggy ? I don't know much about photography tbh..
Yep it will look more like overall fog/mist... If you are looking to create a custom shape of fog/smoke, than you need to use the fog while rendering or add it in post. It really depends on the look you're after and the camera shot itself
Just render your animation with Atmosphere Render Element Activated, so, once you ended the render, you'll have the Atmosphere Pass in image sequence, one pass per frame, after that, you can import it on After Effects or similar video edit program and make treatment like photoshop but in video, using Blend mode as Screen or something, using the corrections that you want...
Nice quick tip :)

+Robert LC - Digital Artist Thanks for the tip, I will try that.
this tutorial is awesome. Short but awesome. Thank you so much!
straight to the point, thx.
great video..gets direct to the point and is easy to understand....
awesome videos very concise! thanks mate!
Thank you for this tutorial! Very helpful!!!
i loooovvve your tutorials
Thanks for sharing the knowledge :) Great tutorials.

+Bruno Silva you're welcome !
Very nice sir. I will try this now. Just one question, can you show us if we can bound the fog effects in a specific area/ space.
+DewaPoyo You can specify a gizmo object to define the fog boundaries. Just create a basic box in the size of the area you wish to add the fog, then go to the environment fog parameter and set it as a gizmo (you can add more than one gizmos).

Tanks Bro!
excelent thanks!
thankyou!!!
Could you please tell me the computer specification required to this kind of rendering? The one I have can't do this kind of thing.
excellent :)
VRY NICE
thank you!
好厉害呀 谢谢
Great tutorial. I'm curious how it would work with HDRI lighting? I tried in a scene with HDRI and didn't get any "god rays".
+Gramsci you can use the HDRI for main lighting and add a vray sun only for the fog. in the Sun parameter click on exclude->and exclude all objects. Then go to the bottom of the fog parameters and select the sun as light source (turn off "use all lights")
Fantastic, thanks!
+Arch Viz Camp BTW just to clarify if anyone else needs this workaround it's the HDRI sun that needs to "exclude all objects"...
What if we need to do the foggy environment for an animation , do we need to do this for every single rendered image ..?
For animation I prefer not to use the environment fog at all unless it is used in small areas like close to a lamp or something similar. Insted I like to render Zdepth pass sequences and use them as fog in the composition stage.

help me...ma test render shows lots of...noice in render immage...how to reduse4 it.....
Any easy way to do this in an animation? I have around 20 seconds of footage, and I can't do this for every single picture...

I simply can't get to that result.... this is very frustrating chit....
how to do the same in any room , say fog passing from window to living room .
Similar way. Just need to make sure sun target is in the right position and dont need to have glass in window as this is a separate pass.
Thanks ! I have subcribed , gimme this tree pack if you can plz !
а архитектура по правилам Ле Карбюзье :)

нахрена создавать туман, чтобы отдельно его накладывать в фотошопе? в фотошопе я могу наложить туман и без макса, скачав его с интернета
wtf with your microphone >_
+Filip Sapojnicov Is something wrong with the sound?
yeah ((((( terrible , but tutorial is good thnx btw
+Arch Viz Camp Don´t worry I think the sound is ok, and the images are magnific
+Arch Viz Camp There's nothing wrong with the sound, I assume the problem is at his end..
