ATE really helps illustrate how powerful positioning is in warfare, being able to put firepower where you need it is the most important thing and the ATE lets you put a lot of firepower in a lot of places very quickly if you get it in the right spot

Although AT Emplacement does have some weaknesses, it has so much damn ammo and shreds everything on bots. I’ve been bringing it on like every every bot mission other than the forest planets

Yes that was a core strategy of the run, cutting out walking and driving by using the ATE to snipe most objectives from as far as away as possible. Being able to do that is one of the things that make bots really fun to speedrun

The main thing that makes runs like this possible is the consistency of how structures generate in HD2. They are not completely random and are instead chosen from a list of handmade prefab locations. For the past 6 months the speedrunning community has been mapping these out and finding the fastest way to beat each one. Consistency and reducing RNG is important in the case of a speedrun. It's a competitive thing where you are going for a world record and if you leave it up to chance its unfair and up to luck who wins. With regards to the deathless thing, personally I don't really mind because I just like to get fast times but yeah ik some people do. We could have maybe done it that way but it probably would have required an even more optimized seed, since our target of sub 3 was basically impossible given the location of radar.
I tried it one time but even though we went around the map like 4 times we couldn't find about 3 common samples and 4 rares. I've heard the counter might be inaccurate sometimes? Regardless I think its a great idea!

Yeah the timer actually starts before you even pop out of the pod. You usually can't gain control until about the 10s mark
