20 years ago there was no chickens around. After SARS, and they removed all the alley cats. Rats and Chickens start appearing. They poison the rats, so what's left are the chickens.
Actually most of the roaming chickens are not the ordinary types. I don't know the exact name but we generally called them wild chickens. They are different from the ones raised in chicken farms for food

You should try visiting Christmas Island and cocos Islandon your journey through Australia, the inhabitants are Singaporean and they were controlled by singapore until Australia got the British give the islands to Australia.

Hope u had time to enjoy some cheap local food from good stalls away from city areas which will be more pricey… Malay , Indian, Chinese cuisine
