The craziest thing to me is Hal’s huge drum break fill was overdubbed! You hear it faintly in the spill problem from Karen’s headphones or track bleed. That’s crazy! But it’s beautiful to hear these parts separated out. Thanks!
An interview of Hal Blaine & Joe Osborne who've worked w/ Sinatra, Streisand, Elvis, the Beachboys among others by Chris May & Elli Tourje jst shows how truly talented & special Karen is
I played several sessions with Joe and got to play that stacknob jazz a few times.he played the same set of flat labellas for years.what a great tone.check out tin man by America. It's Joe at his best
That's what I call a power trio: Karen, Joe and Hal! The one you mentioned is the famous 'one breath' phrase of course but isn't 'there may come a time when I will see that I've been wrong, but for now this is my song, and it's goodbye to love' now revealed one breath as well? Wasn't she influenced to do things like that by Matt Munro (i.e. Born Free)? And...(since it's not there) does this mean that the big drum fill (just before the outro) was an overdub? Great work and thanks!
It’s really emotional. We have been deprived of that voice. Everyone on this power trio recording is dead dead dead sadly. Including Tony peluso who died of a heroin Overdose
Makes me cry hearing this
La mejor voz que escuche, un verdadero angel, hermosa e inolvidable 😢😢
Karen's voice was angelic & one of a kind.
I've read that Karen would go into the booth and sing her take it and peg it the first time. She really was one of a kind.
Just beyond words😍😍😍😍😍
Perfection
Karen vivait cette chanson !!

Yes!
Her voice is timeless I like the old records but it was only her voice I really loved

Wow, that's incredible!
Thank you. Didn't know Joe played with America. I love them very much.
I would love to hear a separation of the end harmonies.
Yes, I love that part of the song the most.
It’s essentially a hymn
unreal.. this is how it’s done!!

Yes indeed. I always suspected K was playing on this one too... Cheers.

Yes indeed.
Who owns the rights to the song, especially Hal's drum track around the 2:30 mark? How much of Hal's drum track, if any, can legally be used? Thanks.
A&M Records, or whoever owns them?
