There is an easier way to graph the line than putting it in slope - intercept form. Start with standard form: 3x + 5y = 15. Divide on both sides by the constant term: 3x/15 + 5y/15 = 1. Simplify: x/5 + y/3 = 1. It is now obvious, or it should be, that the x intercept is 5 and the y intercept is 3. Plot these two points and draw your line.
@@loxxibrown3823 no you can’t do that because the reason you have 5 is because that’s your Y otherwise you will get a different type of answer -3 - 5 The one above is for your X-axis 3 which is (0,3) is for your Y-axis
Passed grade 10 with a 50 because it’s hard for me to understand what the teacher is talking about, started grade 11 and this is the first thing that really clicked. At the start I didn’t even know how to graph something in the completed form but it seems so simple now 😂 Edit: it’s a lot easier on video form because I can rewind and make sure I’m caught up
I’m currently trying to figure out how to graph an equation that looks like this: y-8=-2(x+3) ...but I can’t find any tutorials that are explaining how to do so...

There is an easier way to graph the line than putting it in slope - intercept form.

Why would you subtract the -3x in stead of dividing? And why over complicate it the way you do?

Change in x and change in y? So the x is 5? And y is -3? Or vice versa??
X-axis is (-3,5) it doesn’t matter where you want to start just that the one you want to pick to start with should have a dot
