Metro-North's Danbury Branch: GENESIS MEET at Wilton

- This was a first for us. We've always wanted to see a Genesis meet on the Danbury line because most of the time when there's a meet, it's a BL20 and a P32 or just two BL20s. Luckily, #1822 was shuttling with not only a Genesis, but a 3 car one which is also SUPER rare! This marks the 2nd time we've seen a 3 car Genesis and the 3rd time we've seen a meet on the Danbury Branch. Anyway, enjoy and please like and subscribe!

I need to get out to the Danbury branch sometime so I can see something other than trains on the Hartford line.
Thanks for the video. I found this youtube channel today and subscribed. I live in Florida but was raised in Connecticut so an interest in trains there. Do you know if there is plans to double track more of the Danbury Line? Seems there might be bottlenecks at times from watching the videos.
I'm glad you enjoy the channel, thanks so much for your support. The Danbury line has 4 or 5 sidings for what you saw here where 1 train can pass the other. There hasn't been any initiative to double track the line except for the dockyard project in Norwalk which electrified it up to science road and made it 2 tracks. @@SusanPauline365 1 thing I have no idea no idea what your talking about i listed alI of them that I caught. It actually was 211 with 6304, then 218 swapped with 211.
I was confused for a sec. But yeah 218 replaced 211 which was interesting.
202's horn finally got clogged...and to think this locomotive with 7 cars just left Ansonia JUST NOW heading for Waterbury in this snow
Cool. Do certain trains have a specific route where they are 7 cars on the Waterbury every day?
@@MillerRailfan absolutely not. They only come in as a substitute for one day of service, from one round trip to possibly 3.5 round trips...
I think I told you this on another video but I think the reason for that is because the BL20s are being rebuilt and that’s causing an engine shortage
I got to go up on this branch one of these days. The new infrastructure bill is going to completely change this line. I want to see it before it changes, even if it means I won’t get a ton of action.
Also I think the date in the description is wrong. I was out on November 2nd and it was 2 7 car sets on the line.
