Nice 👍 makes it better
Thank you so far I have learn a lot from you
I’m waiting for the
Raquel Welch, the BOB I like it a lot but it’s still kind of pricey
Some people think it’s inauthentic or disingenuous to wear spare hair. They feel you are trying to put one over on them. So they make our journey all about themselves. Or in some circles, the implied, or even explicit, assumption is that we are bowing to a ridiculous cultural norm because that’s what it would mean to them. In other words, in both these cases, it’s really not about us or our choice. I find a silent response works wonders.
Ppl who think all of that need to take several seats. It's not about them and what they think.
@@tranquility9325 so true.
You put that so well. It’s so frustrating how people project their own feelings onto our choices, as if our hair decisions are somehow about them. At the end of the day, we deserve to feel comfortable, confident, and happy in our own skin-whether that includes wigs, toppers, or embracing our natural hair. And yes, sometimes silence really is the best response. 💕
I have Lupus and about a year ago I started experiencing hair loss. You are 100% correct and I’m grateful you shared this because that is so so painful I know from experience. And lots of times that’s just the first thing on their list of remedies for all of my symptoms and that is infuriating and heartbreaking at the same time. While trying not get mad at the person because, like you said, most of the time it’s not intentional on their part. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
That sounds so incredibly tough, and I’m so sorry you’re going through it. Hair loss on top of everything else Lupus throws at you is so much to deal with, and I completely understand how frustrating it is when people offer “solutions” that just don’t help. It’s hard to balance the emotions-knowing they mean well but still feeling hurt by their words.
You are absolutely not alone in this, and I’m so grateful that sharing my experience could bring even a little bit of comfort. Sending you so much love and strength. ❤
Lupus took my hair too.
I wish I had all the money back from the remedies I tried (that never worked) so I could buy more wigs. Lol
@@miss.kimpossible lol!! Me too!!! ❤️
Thank you. I just started with wigs after 7 years of trying everything. Love your videos. It has been a very difficult journey.
Then, when you start with a wig, it's shocking to everyone. When will it just be normal?
Actually, I get comfort when somebody says to me "It's just hair." I respond "That is why I just wear wigs to make me look and feel better." End of story!
I’ve had SO many doctors tell me “It’s just hair” when I turn to them for help! Makes me so mad!!!! And going to my hairstylist to get my extensions is so stressful because she tries to give me advice to grow it back - and when I told her I’m close to getting wigs she told me “NO, then no man will want to date you!” I wanted to cry… 😢
If a man is that shallow you don't want him anyway.
Those same doctors are the same ppl who rush to hide their receding hairline with baseball caps lol
Ugh, I’m so sorry you had to hear that. 😔 It’s not “just hair” - it’s tied to so many emotions, confidence, and identity. And that comment from your hairstylist? Completely unacceptable. You deserve support, not fear-mongering. Wigs are just hair too, and the right people in your life will see you-not just what’s on your head. Sending you so much love. 💕 You’re not alone in this. 💖
My opinion only!!! I am sorry you had to hear that, personally I would be looking for a new hairdresser. xxx
exactly🌺 wigs is like : hair extensions, like lash extensions, at least we really need it ,if our spirit and life will be lifted up if we wear it ! and again , WIGS are now an accessory :) look in the community Afro-American , they are so good with changing looks by wearing all kind of wigs, colors , tresses name it and nobody will comments! so ..... hear me sis ... I LOVE MY WIGS and even hypothetically I will grow back my mane :) I still continue having fun with my wigs !!!! LOL kisses from Ottawa
Yesss!! 🙌 Wigs are such a fun and empowering way to express ourselves, just like any other beauty accessory. And you’re so right-the confidence and joy they bring are what truly matter! I love that you’re embracing your wigs and having fun with them, no matter what. 💃💖 Sending big hugs from here to Ottawa! 😘💕
Obviously I love the wig content proper, but this just made me feel seen and validated. No one has specifically made me feel any type of way, but I'm only about six months down my alt hair path and some days still feel like everyone *KNOWS* or is looking. What started off as, what I thought, was a cute hair day has me second guessing myself. It's a learning curve and I thank you for your kindness and relatable, very realistic perspective. ❤
I completely get that feeling-it can be such a rollercoaster in the beginning. Some days you feel amazing, and others, it’s like your brain convinces you that everyone is staring (even when they’re not!). It really is a learning curve, and I promise it gets easier with time. You’re doing amazing, and I hope you keep reminding yourself that you get to decide what makes you feel good. 💕 Thank you for your kind words-I’m so glad this resonated with you! ❤
I am in my first couple years of hair loss and I am early in my wig journey. I hear all of these comments/advice you mentioned if the subject comes up. So for now I refuse to talk about it with family/ friends until I am better equipped to respond. Thanks for your words of wisdom and hopefully I will grow more confident in time.
Im sending this to anyone that disses me!!!!! Thankyou!!🫂🙏🏻❤️
@@kellyvendrasco1945 you’re very welcome ❤️ I’m very sorry if anyone disses you. You don’t deserve that
I hadn't seen someone I know for some time, and when seeing them again some time later, they outrightly said - Wow wtf did you do to you hair. That hurt. It was their tone, their facial expression. I started wearing hats, buying heaps of different styles to cover up everywhere I went. Now I just buy the most gorgeous wigs.
Thank you so much for this video Steph. I love the wig content but I find this more vulnerable content on hair loss and your own experience with it so important and valuable and it really helps me feel validated. I hope you can continue making it every now and then too :)
That means so much to me-thank you! ❤ I love talking about wigs, but sharing the deeper side of hair loss and the emotions that come with it is something I feel really passionate about. It’s not always easy to be vulnerable, but knowing that it helps others feel validated makes it 100% worth it. I’ll definitely keep making this kind of content when I can! Sending you lots of love. 💕
My hair got really thin when I had my first child which was 18 after that I cut my hair short I was also a cosmetologist so I made people beautiful everyday and nothing I ever did made my 10 hairs look nice. I kept my hair really short and my genetic hair loss is hereditary. I spent so much money on products and vitamins to help make my hair thicker. Now I am 58 and last year I was with my mom who is 83 and somebody asked if we were sisters . That's when I said enough and I want hair ,beautiful hair. Then I saw your videos and I was amazed at how beautiful women looked and young with wigs I was hooked.
Wow, what a journey you’ve been on! I completely understand that feeling of wanting to finally have the hair you’ve always dreamed of. Wigs can be such a game-changer-not just for how we look but for how we feel. I love that you decided to take control and embrace wigs for yourself. You deserve to feel beautiful and confident, and I’m so happy my videos could play a small part in that for you! ❤
Your skin is glowing🥰I'd love to know what skincare you use🤗
Aww, thank you so much!!! 🥰 I love taking care of my skin-it’s one of my favorite little self-care rituals. There’s just something about putting on a face mask and tidying up the house that makes me feel so good! 😂 Most of the products I use are from Eminence Organics (I love that they’re completely organic and clean!), and I also use Alumier for sunscreen and a few potent serums. If you’re interested, I have all my favorite Eminence products listed on my Amazon storefront! @WigsWithSteph Thank you so much Steph❣🥰
You are absolutely correct!! People have no idea what it's like and it is devastating. Fortunately, we have beautiful wigs these days and people wouldn't even know. that's a real blessing!! But that still doesn't make us feel good when we come home and take our wigs off and see our hair loss. I know everybody by their hair!! That's what I see first. There's so much to to getting past the devastation. As women that's are crowning Glory. I'm old so I'm okay with it now. And I can have the hair I really never did have. So there is a good side and I can get ready really quickly. 😂
You said it so perfectly! Wigs are such a blessing, and they give us the chance to have the hair we’ve always wanted-but that doesn’t erase the emotions that come with hair loss. It’s such a journey, and it takes time to process. I love that you’ve found the good in it, though! And yes, the getting-ready time is definitely a huge bonus! 😂 Sending you lots of love! ❤
I really needed this. I'm a male 21 and have had chronic cystic acne. So I took accutane to combat it. Bad decision. And it has made me so sad. It has made made it much more thinner and fragile. And may have even triggered MPB. I got a scalp biopsy to determine the cause but I don't honestly trust my doctor's anymore.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Hair loss, especially when it feels unexpected or out of your control, can be incredibly tough emotionally. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to be frustrated and sad. I hope you’re able to find some answers that give you clarity and peace of mind. In the meantime, be gentle with yourself-you deserve that. Sending you strength and support! ❤
@@WigsWithSteph I got "Answers" But they said it was MPB. I have no pattern in my hairloss. So i was just misdiagnosed are medical system and society is so fucked. I'm exhaused ma'am. I'm also a mixed man so no one cares that they gave me this life altering drug.
EVERYTHING you just said here, is exactly how I feel. You have brought this out in an amazing and an understandable way and I want to send it to some friends and family who have said some of these things to me. I know that it's never come from a bad place, but they just don't understand what impact these comments have on someone struggling with this. Your analogy of losing a limb, what perfect! I've only just starting wearing wigs, but juuuuust. I haven't worn them to the office yet, too nervous to do so but I've worn my toppers. I don't why they seem different from each other, but they just do. I"ll get there, Im sure. Anyway, thanks for this video Steph, I appreciate you!
I’m so glad this resonated with you! It’s hard when people don’t fully understand what we’re going through, even when their intentions are good. Sending this to friends and family sounds like such a great idea-it might help them see things from a different perspective and offer the kind of support you truly need.
And I totally get the difference between wigs and toppers. It’s such a personal journey, and there’s no rush-go at your own pace. When (and if) you feel ready to wear a wig to the office, you’ll own it, just like you have with your toppers. No matter what, you’re already doing amazing, and I’m so grateful to be part of your journey! ❤
Your right and I think ppl know your right even though they say what they say. Sometimes they say it just to voice an opinion or to help someone feel less worried or maybe just to change the mood. I like my wigs bc my hair is thinning but also bc i love versatility and different styles. I'm in my early 30s but had to have a hysterectomy. And my hair loss came during pregnancy and now premenapause due to my hysterectomy. And it does suck. And alot of my family is losing their hair, men and women, so I think we're all in the same boat currently, so it helps to not be alone. But it still sucks. But to those who don't understand, should try to emphasize and think before they speak, bc it could happen to them one day. And I'm sure I need to learn my manners on other subjects. But I do try my best. We're all just living and learning. ❤
You have such a great perspective on this. It really does help to know we’re not alone, but that doesn’t make the experience any less tough. Hair loss can be such an emotional journey, especially when it’s tied to big life changes like pregnancy and menopause. And you’re so right-people don’t always realize how their words might land, but a little empathy goes a long way. We’re all just doing our best. Sending you so much love! ❤
@WigsWithSteph aww thank you, and same to you! 🩵🌻🌸 keep up the great work. Your channel is so uplifting and helpful for so many of us.
You’re so spot on gorgeous, got emotional hearing you share this. ❤️
You know some people don’t mean harm is just they have good intentions 😊
They mean well but......there comes a time to grow up.
Period
Absolutely! A lot of the time, people really do mean well-they just don’t always realize how their words might come across. It’s all about giving grace while also standing firm in what makes us feel good. 💕😊
Thank you for this! ❤
Sending you so much love!!! ❤
Yes, the "your hair looks fine" comment, I hear a lot. Then I put a wig on, and it's....Wow, that looks great. Yeah, your hair is pretty thin. Geez!!!! Sigh.
Or they say they can't tell....
Hey, Steph! I’m new to your channel and I’m so glad I found it!
I’ve been searching for information about wigs for a while and I found everything I needed to know here. So, thanks to your videos, I’m about to order my very first wig for my birthday this month ))
Thanks for sharing your confidence with us 🙂
Ahhh thats why your skin is stunningly glowing!🥰✨️💕
Thank you :):)
Yep. People that know me tend to ask me "Why?" "Is it your food?" Etc, like im choosing to do something that causes it? 😢Im not super thin so obviously im not under eating or anything.
I was once talking to a coworker 'friend' and I mentioned about my hair being thin. She said "yeah, I probably have more hair on my whole head than you." She had a buzzcut 😢
This picture profile is a wig I like to wear wigs brings up my passion to look better
I have a lot hair I don’t like to be so blunt to someone has hair loss I just be discreet about it and just not say anything cause I know I put myself in that person situation so let’s turn the page and let all of us be a better person
Firstly, your skin looks amazing. I wonder if you got a hydra-facial? I get those, and I love the way they make my skin feel and it glows for days.
Oh, wow, Ms. Steph, preach it, Sister ! Right now in my life, I have extreme, advanced HL. It started many years ago, but in earnest about 22 years ago and now it is in its advanced stage. I began to wear alternative hair at that time (about 22 years ago). Well, two of my now "EX" friends, would denigrate me in public, mock me, make fun of me, tell people at parties where we attended, dinner outings with third-parties, or out in public, that I was wearing wigs . . . it was horrifying. One of them told me she longer wanted to be my friend. With the other one, I ended the friendship when, for the last time, they "outed" me at a swank party in front of other guests, that I was wearing a wig. During the "friendship" I was told by the first mentioned former friend, many a time, that no matter how attractive one is, if they have "bad hair," that effects their appearance. Like telling me "hint-hint" . . . I believe that when I started wearing toppers, falls and wigs back then, it absolutely transformed my look to the point they could not deal with it. I was considered an attractive woman, but I had hair-loss. I think they actually felt that fact made them superior to me. Then with my fabulous (helper) hair, my exterior changed enormously, along with my confidence. So they had to tear me down. To this day, it has traumatized me. I do not think I will ever get over it. We moved across the country for my husband's work a number of years ago. While I am very cordial and congenial, I do not let myself get close to people (other than with my husband, naturally, and immediate family), and I do not tell anyone I wear wigs, whether they are gushing over my hair, asking where I get it done, etc., or otherwise. Thank you, thank you, for addressing this topic. I always enjoy your content. Blessings to you.
I hate when they say "oh I can't eventell"
I strongly disagree with the point "yeah, my hair sucks, too." My hair sucks. I dont think I have hair loss, but I have always struggled with fine and thin hair. Just because I did not "lose" it, does not mean I can't mourn it. We are surrounded by people with beautiful hair, its one of the most desirable physical traits of women. I may not know the struggles of hair loss, but you don't know the struggle of always having bad hair dur to genetics. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Just that we all have different journeys.
I totally hear you, and I appreciate you sharing your perspective! Thin and fine hair definitely comes with its own set of struggles, and I would personally say it falls under the hair loss umbrella in many ways. My intention with that point in the video wasn’t to dismiss anyone’s experience with naturally thin hair, but rather to address those who have full, healthy hair but casually say, “Yeah, my hair sucks too,” when talking to someone actually struggling with hair loss. I definitely know I can’t cover every unique experience in one video, but I truly meant for this to be helpful and bring awareness to how certain comments can feel dismissive. No offense was intended at all! And trust me, I get it-I have thin hair too! 💕
I was always asked.. Have you heard of so and so? It’s expensive but they have great reviews.
the one that got me was.. well at least you are still alive..
I had an aunt say that she too had hair loss. She was over 80 years old 😂😂
Just tell them you like wigs, then they’ll shut up.
Ppl need to stop being the hair police. They should exercise the grace of minding their own business, lol.
♥️
😊
One, it's not that bad two, well why don't you wear a wig this was before I found wigs and I was like is it that bad... three, stop being so dramatic You are so vain...😢 ❤ You'r videos Steph.
