Learning a language and taking courses doesn't make you a hacker. As said in this video, you need to think out of the box. First learn how things are made, how things are running, why it's running that way, etc and then you start to realize how you can probably tweak stuff. It's hard to describe. Security is a lot of things, you can do only web, or infra, or binaries, or whatever.
