@@Justinwa0309 your either in a boat sailing to Limsa or in a cart going to Gridania specifically. I'm new to the game so I didn't even know there were different with whichever job you chose to start off as. Not sure about Ul'dah though but probably the cart again.
Ah Legacy Players, I wonder how many still exist in game? But they got some neat stuff for being legacy players though, a nice tattoo on their back and a different intro.
Im still around :D
I actually transferred my legacy character into the beta for ARR...but then I deleted her because I wanted to start fresh when ARR got released...I had no idea legacy characters would get so many perks and I regretted it so much T^T..... Oh well.
I did something similar where i started a new character instead of using my old one, i still have the ring but not the tattoo
Still doin it! Been subbed from the beginning. Well, excluding when they suspended the monthly payments and allowed free play temporarily while they were trying to fix things, of course.
I'm still around also :)
Oh that’s cool. I have a legacy account but I didn’t bring over my old character so I never saw this lol
wowperson26 same here
legacy player intro
pros: don't have to meet alphinaud
cons: don't get to meet alisaie
So... Draven got pulled into FF and became a scholar. Interesting character development.
While this is 5 years old. I'd like to note that I can still play my Legacy Intro and all Legacy cutscenes from 2.0, so its still a thing for us. Only thing we can't do anymore is watch our 1.0 cutscenes, as they pulled that out due to having some type of problem on the back end.
Aw man this intro looks awesome
Oh cool I didn't know this was a thing
Are you alive?
damn i wish i had stuck it out lol. of course i stopped before going to basic in 2010 and didnt pick it back up until 2015
"haven for bandits and brigands" and catgirls
I guess this shows how long ago I started playing this game because I thought I actually had a beginning like this but I did not play during 1.0. I actually started mid-way through Heavensward.
Is much of this the same as non-legacy with just a few little extras thrown in? That might explain why it seems familiar even though I didn't have it. :)
Non legacy starts in a wagon being taken to their starting city, only Legacy players get teleported through time into a forest.
@@pixelapocrypha To clarify, only legacy players who played at the end of 1.0 got teleported into the forest. I'm a legacy player who stopped playing before YoshiP took over; I got the tattoo but had the wagon cart intro.
So THAT'S why they're called warriors of light
Can you view the intro again at the inn? Which tab was it in?
QQKachu they removed it from inn viewing
That is so cool
So, do the scions remember you if you're a legacy character?
Based on some old comments, only Minfillia. After the Ultima fight, everyone else remembers.
imagine losing the war and the world, couldn't be me.
their intro is so much more awesome!
It's kinda a bummer I was never able to play 1.0; because despite account creation, I couldn't instal/play the game because it was too big for my PC at the time. Whomp whomp.
***** You had to be log when the worlds was going to be shutdown for 1.0. That how i got it and my gf did not she just got the normal into.
You.didn't have to be logged in to get the intro. I stopped playing 1.0 well before it ended and still got the intro, neck tat and other things.
And this will forever remind me that i forgot to claim my neck tattoo when arr came out and i didn't know that was a thing 😂
There was no process required to claim the tattoo. If you carried your 1.0 character through you just type /legacymark to make it appear.
@@oOSereneAuroraOo then its even worse because I deleted a character the very 1st character I made months ago and if I recall it's character bound not account bound right? 😂 I wonder why the ff support team told me otherwise but maybe I misread the email 🤔
Nooooo! Oh I'm so sorry. Yes it is character based not account based. :(@@xmixaplix
Is the forest bit the same regardless of starting city?
Yes
Good god, your PC's boots sound so SQUEAKY lol!
PumpkinLicorice yes omg lol 😵
Well, how else would you know he's one of the finest fry cooks in the world lol?
The fuck I'm a legacy player and I never got this intro
Then you played a character that was not originally made in 1.0.
Eventually we'll have a legacy intro as well in FF24 a realm reborn from ashes anew in the darkness of light, part 2 the VR-mmo 07 ;) :p
What intro do non legacies get?
You're in the back of a caravan heading to whatever starting city you choose with a sleeping Alisae and Alphinaud, and some random NPC. You get some small dialogue and a bit of world building, the caravan is attacked by local beast men and you then arrive in the city.
@@PillsHere69oh, okay. That also happens after this intro. All these years and I never knew we, legacy players, had a bit longer intro. Thanks.
Did you get anything else on your legacy account?
discount on sub, tatoo on your back and a special chocobo
@@Khankra90 are you still playing?
@@MMOPH4U from time to time, yes
@@Khankra90 if your planning on selling your account let me know 😁
Those things, plus slightly altered dialogue, a slightly altered ending for 2.0 and a tattoo on your back
I chose a legacy server even though I never played OG so I saw this.
*Edit I was mistaken, I thought the first part was the Legacy intro.
This is a special opening for players who played through 1.0....there's no way to get it otherwise.
@@ericaw528 The part with the blue dream area and the man on the mask is the legacy intro right?
@@neonrelmsproductions4224 no, that happens for everyone. the lagecy intro is when the character gets teleported (2:00), any characters made after the launch of ARR shows the character riding in a carriage (or being in a ship if your starting city is Limsa) after the dream sequence.
@@AMx5327 Oh ok thank you
I really should have played FFXIV 1.0. I had the game. But I never had the time for it :(
It was awful, you really didn't miss anything.
Also have our Back Brand
im legacy and i dont have this opening >:o
I believe you had to finish all the MSQ of 1.0 to see it
I'm legacy and also didn't get it. I just got the regular one?
Seems unfair.
Drew I only got to ifrit in 1.0 due to toaster laptop. I did pay several months sub before 1.0 went free. I got the intro, chocobo, and tattoo. Missing the Ultimate weapon Scions remember you cutscene.
1.0 players also have a tattoo on their characters upper back, just below the neck.
I played the 1.0 beta. It sucked and my computer couldn't handle it so I didn't stick around. Alas, hindsight...
So legacy player walk to city while none legacy take chocobo carriage lol cool I guess
Cool
So mad that there is no way to earn a Legacy Status, only to witness cool things like the intro and chances in dialogue and such
Haha, well it's only fair. Personnaly, as a non legacy (i did play a bit of the original FF XIV but gave up) it's pretty damn awesome because it feels that the world is actually a bit more alive and unique and gives you a unique perspective on it depending if you were legacy or not :) When i started to understand the concept, I thought it was pretty cool that my character and myself was probably seeing the world completely differently, at least initially, than a legacy player
I’m not a legacy player but it’s fair. And I don’t think there should be a way to earn that kind of status. It awesome they did this kind of stuff for the people who returned to the game. I only recently got into mmos when I started playing ffxiv. So I can only hope that when the next final fantasy mmo comes out I’ll be lucky enough to take part from the beginning. Tho I don’t see that happening anytime soon so I’ll just play on and eventually I’ll have things that new players aren’t able to get. I believe I already do. Or at least have things that are really hard for new players to get. It’s really not a good reason to get mad. Lol you could probly buy a legacy account tho if you tried hard enough and had enough real life money to pay for it.
DAD mousecursor
why dont you move the freaking mouse!!! aaaa!!!!!
Sounds like the narrator for Hunter X Hunter
Move that damn mouse cursor
huh funny i got this opening lol
Yeah? Well I come from Vana'diel! How-bou-da?!
Summoner FTW boiii
The beginning was awful in general...
Glad the game becomes great later.
"Legacy isn't much of a thing anymore as the only thing that separates Legacy characters from new ones are potentially the First Gobbue mount, Dalamund horn and the various achievements and titles." so...basically everything that separates Legacy characters from everyone else...lol, nothing has changed
also
Legacy Chocobo, name in the credits, $10/mo instead of $15/mo.
Not sure if you're just listing differences or genuinely complaining, but if it is the latter:
Please, let's not be rude. They bought a sub back when it was cheaper. That ain't unfair. I think they mean that there are no gameplay advantages to being a legacy player.
Wow thats it? New players gets a better intro and some actual dialogue with characters. Legacy characters? Appear in a forest, without any gear they may have had in 1.0, walk to and narrator talks....that's...rather lame :/
+MajorShepard there's also small writing differences within the story to accommodate for legacy-player storylines
I actually enjoyed it. It takes place right after being sent forward in time.
And a $9.99 monthly sub ;)
Very jealous that i was to poor to play the first one
