@@urbaanidze I can’t speak for the former, but from what I’ve seen of Moore in Live and Let Die as well as most of the Brosnan films, their Bonds best personified the gentlemen spy caricature of the 1980s/90s - suave, savvy professional killers that, unfortunately, didn’t offer much outside being a (rather good-looking) vehicle to carry the story forward. Not to say that they are bad actors, but they were hardly stretched beyond maintaining the rule of cool in their roles. There isn’t a moment in the Brosnan films where Brosnan truly gets a “license to act” e.g. Craig’s fury and devastation at Vesper’s death, or his expression switches between both pain and mocking as his balls get caved in in Casino Royale, or age presenting him another vulnerability in SF. Brosnan and Moore were let down by lesser scripts - it speaks volumes that their movies were outdone in the box office by a Bond parody (Austin Powers), and the best Bond movies post-Connery and pre-CR are, ironically, the Bourne series.
@@FrizFroz Brosnan's ability to connect with the female leads was insane. His Bond felt like he was actually in love with them. Which worked fantastic in TWINE when he had to kill his former lover. Dalton is still my Ideal Bond. Mysterious and charming, yet can be brooding and downright terrifying. He just exudes cold-bloodedness at times, he feels like a professional assassin. He does this without losing the suave charm, unlike Craig who feels more like Jason Bourne than James Bond at times.
