    First tried this sort of thing thirty years ago on a mates Honda 4 tank, with improvised tools through the fuel cap hole. It had half a dozen ugly dents in it and got them all out no problem without damaging the paint.

    Good videos. I'm in the middle of resurrecting an '05 Softail Springer and the tank has a dent a good 6" in diameter. Damn near a perfect circle. It's not too deep, but it's got lots of surface area and a couple of creases. I'm considering buying these tools.

      Steven S. I'm not trying to be impolite but don't try doing this yourself. PDR especially on tanks is like performing plastic surgery on your own nose. Hire a professional. it will be better and cheaper if you attempt your self.

    What would a job like this normally cost? I've got a similar crease in my tank and I'm trying to decide if it's just better for me to buy this other matching tank I found. I don't possess the tools, skills, or time to do this sort of work myself.

    crease dents r significantly easier and look way smoother when the light is set up farther away and going the same direction as the crease

    Bike tanks are tough aren't they, so much thicker than a car panel. Great job!

    Make a mold of the other side of the tank that is not dented put a tube in the mold let setup take it off and put it over the dent and pull a vacum it might pull the dent out.

    • @ericwilkes238
      @ericwilkes238 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short of like crushing a 55 gallon drum wit vacum only opposite.

      In order to pop a dent out you have to go past the point of where the metal was previously. Spring back means that you have to 'over bend' the material. Just pulling it back into its original state is not enough stress.

      The only "trick" in PDR work is actually knowing what you are doing, which sounds like you know nothing about. PDR takes time, patience, and experience to do properly which Dent Time apparently has and so do many other PDR workers.

    HI MYKE IS THERE ANY CHANCE WE COULD USE GLUE PULLER JUST TO LOOSEN THE DEEPNESS OF THE DENT ON EVERY TANKS?

    • @denttime
      @denttime  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      definitely!

    • @denttime
      @denttime  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      let me correct that, on Harley tanks you cannot glue pull because the clear coat is too thick it will rip off

    • @MichaElLopez-xe1kt
      @MichaElLopez-xe1kt 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh so the clear will be damage as we pulled right? well thats very helpful Myke!!! thanks God bless
