Last year, alongside my Gel-Nimbus 25 , the Infinity Run 4 was the best soft cushioning I had. I wonder if this Pegasus 41 will have similar feelings of the rockered ride of the Infinity 4 ! Versatility and comfort would make a very nice combo for a daily trainer! Not every time or every one that wants a daily trainer only focused on speed a dlots of lack of comfort.
@EDDBUD nice. Can't wait for your comparison videos with the Pegasus 41 against other shoes ! I wonder if it can fight well against the Vomero 17 ! From all Nike's shoes I bought last year, the Vomero was the one with the less breathable upper ... very good shoes but not breathable like the Invincible 3 or Structure 25 and much worse them the knit upper of the Infinity 4.

the 40 was a total miss for me but just got my pair of the 41s and wow, what an improvement. Haven't liked a pegasus like this since the 33. Great shoe, very comfortable and feels slightly faster than the last few pegasus versions.
Hey Eddbud, can you ShoreA multiple zones of Nike outsole, as I've found with Vomero16 the medial/central rubber wears out faster than their much more durable heal and lateral rubber..... same, same with my fave Tempo Next%, where the pads in the rear could go 1500km, easily double the forefoot.
I feel that 10mm drop is the source of many issues with the Peg as it seems to make you foot slide forward which crowds the toe box and makes the forefoot feel thin as your weight is more forward. If they eased the drop to maybe 6mm and added those 4mm back under the forefoot, it might be a much better option.
Better to wait for Pegasus Turbo 4 or buy Vomero17 , or at least wait for some darker colorways for everyday use & wait to get Peg41 on sale. I have Peg39 al they are collecting dust...
My all time favourite shoes are the Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo. For me, these are my fasestet shoes, I still use them today for my short distance PB attempts. I do however get numb feet as the cushioning is so old now. I use the Nike Invincible 3 for every day runs but they feel sooooo slow. I really hope the Pegasus 40 can replace my 35s, if not I will have to pay £250 on Stockx and get the 35s again :(
Ah, too bad you' re not all that impressed. I guess there are just more exciting daily trainers now. I tried it in the shop, and thought it was a big improvement over the 39/40 as it was just a bit softer but still felt very much like the Pegasus always feels.
Thanks Edd. I’m currently rotating Pegasus trail 4 gortex, Novablast 4 and Prime X Strung 2 as my daily runners but looking forward to pair of Neo Vistas arriving shortly to liven up the party 🥳.
Edd can you please do a comparisons video on the peg 41 vs the new Adidas SL2. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’m on the fence on which to buy and you haven’t let me down yet!
I tend to end up using the Pegasus as a shoe for live performances when I’m on my feet for hours. This one is ok though, just feels like quite a minimal forefoot stack.
Was waiting with bated breath to hear your opinion Ed. Sounds like it’s a fine shoe when people are all expecting great now. Which in any product rotation there seems to be one.
Design wise, these are 🔥 Can’t go wrong with React plus two Zoom Air units. I run with my 39s and go to the gym after to work out. Great overall shoe for everything. Can’t wait to get the 41s.
Thanks for the review Edd! The competition is fierce these days in the daily trainer market. Good comparison on value and performance regarding Puma Velocity 3 especially as you can find them with good discounts regularly.
Great review, thanks for the honest opinion on the foam, some reviewers failed to compare against og react. Regarding the Peg 35, note that the new Winflo 11 has got the full length air unit and it seems to be better than the Peg 41 in my opinion. Cheers
I'm heel / mid striker and don't like 10mm too !!! It always seems there is too much in the heel and too little in the forefoot - and to be honest who need this drop for daily running????
The 39 if I recall I really liked. The foam always feels different model to model. The peg trail 5 is a better shoe though this time from a daily perspective.
Ive just bought some puma velocity nitro 3s for £90 off eBay. First run on sunday. Quickly tried them on and felt good. Hope ive made the right choice 😅
I’m struggling to work out where I’d use a shoe like this, there are better shoes for recovery and easy days and then better shoes for faster work too. Maybe this is a shoe for newer runners who want a brand they recognise and can do all things OK but nothing well? It is a lovely looking thing though.
The Peg for me is the kind of shoe that if I can’t be bothered spending hours researching other shoes, I will pick up a pair because they generally get the job done without fuss. Perhaps a little bit meh.
Apart from a season racing in the Vaporfly a couple of years ago I've never been a Nike fan, most of their shoes, racers excepted, are far too heavy and underwhelming ss the new Pegasus is not for me. Edd, I would love to see a video that looks in detail at Adidas Supernova series which is growing and getting a lot of attention.
Odd on the weights as Peg 41 has gone up not down for me. Maybe as I got the Volt colour :) So my Peg 41 in a UK 13 come in at 375g (left), 376g (right) and my Peg 40 are a fraction less at 371g for both - rare. Peg 39 was also less for me 352g/358g. Not been able to run in mine yet as have picked up an injury - annoying. Just trying on did think it was a little borderline on length but all my shoes can feel like that until I tighten the laces and lockdown things. Yeah just walking a bit did not feel soft but then compared to the SL2 perhaps anything other than the Rebel v4 might feel firm and a relatively firm ride has always been a feature of the Pegs - like it or not.
@@EDDBUD And the "sad" thing is I think well 376 that's not too bad for a daily although with the SL2, Speed 4, Mach 6, Novablast 4, Rebel v4 all at or even under 300g for me it is essentially a very different type of "daily" trainer we are looking at in the Pegs. Even the Velocity Nitro 3 is "light" in comparison. On the flip side a Prime X2 Strung is heavier for me.
Fashion shoe for me at best Edd. Naively wore the 39's on a holiday to France to run and walk in a couple of years ago and ended up with a lot of foot pain and came home injured.
I was wondering what should i buy between the pegasus 41, the vomero 17 and the zoom fly 5, i would use them in the gym, excluding leg day, and for running on a treadmill for about 40 mins to 1 hour

I am a daily trainer shoe type of guy and have had many iterations of the Pegasus, and have enjoyed the 40. Is the Vomero 17 an upgrade over the 40 or 41? I just dislike that the V17 doesn’t have the air pods like the peg. Thoughts?

If I had to guess, I would think nike is only making the Pegasus line now for gridiron coaches over in the states for them to walk around and in at practice and training sessions. It makes no sense. They make the most minimal improvements to the shoe thinking it should be great, and then you just see it at the Nike outlet in about, three or four months time

@@EDDBUD”it’s perfectly fine” sums it up. I don’t know why I keep buying them. The 35 was peak Pegasus… I might try the Mach 6 hearing good things about those.

I dont have a pair of the 41's yet, but I did all of my fast training sessions in the 40. I dont have time to bring two shoes with me to change into, so the pegs for years now have done well for fast training! It is fine as a workout shoe. We will see if the 41 will work for the same thing or not.
I guess Nike can’t win as the Peg is a classic with a big following. However they are going to have to upset someone to get back up there with a solid daily trainer! I’ve gone off the brand completely apart from my Vaporfly 2’s but not sure I’ll be replacing them with a Nike shoe once the time comes. For me especially with the Pegasus it’s the air pockets, can’t help but feel with the foam it’s creates a weird instability underfoot even when walking. Again personal preference and experience so please be kind 😅
@@gogigp i was disappointed because i got a pair in very good bargain and it gave me foot pain in return. But it's ok, so many other Brands are treating my feet well!
Finally saw someone who shared the same opinion about 41. The midsole is dull and boring. I can't understand why Nike claims that it is 13% bouncier. After 100 miles and I still can't like it.
This shoe is not just for running, people use it to play other sports as well. They need a good heel to toe transition. That's why the heel is curved and has good amount of traction. Not everyone needs a foamy plated shoe that's only suited for long runs. Try using your alphaflys for other sports 😂 you will See the Issue.

@@EDDBUD”it’s perfectly fine” sums it up. I don’t know why I keep buying them. The 35 was peak Pegasus… I might try the Mach 6 hearing good things about those.
I have just mentioned the Pegasus Trail⁵. Now I wonder how far are these Road & Trail versions from each other? 🤔
Why?
❤ mine Peg Trail ¾ but road options were👎
No plan to try unless...
...I hear some magic in the review
And that SL2 review of yours...
Sorry nike 🤷♂️
The peg trail is the better shoe this time. Air units not needed!
I dont have a pair of the 41's yet, but I did all of my fast training sessions in the 40. I dont have time to bring two shoes with me to change into, so the pegs for years now have done well for fast training! It is fine as a workout shoe. We will see if the 41 will work for the same thing or not.
Is an Invincible 4 in the pipeline ?
No word on that. Nike have too many models right now
You had me with the Tim Grose comment. F me!
🤣🛶
When is the next live stream?
Possible tomorrow. Manic days at the mo
@@EDDBUD cool looking forward to it
I guess Nike can’t win as the Peg is a classic with a big following.
They should sub it for some zoomx
Isn't 87% a great score? Novablast 3 got 83% 🤔
I didn’t like the nb3. The 4 is a better implementation of the foam over time
The Vomero 17 was problematic for me and i think that i am not going to touch another Nike soon!
Tqoo bad invincible 3 is so ugly square and expensive, best Nike shoe if you can tolerate the look. Vomero 17 fine for me but 41 felt like a disaster.
@@gogigp i was disappointed because i got a pair in very good bargain and it gave me foot pain in return. But it's ok, so many other Brands are treating my feet well!
@@dhgpan name some:) I'm on 1080 V13, Vomero 17 and ultraboost PB , mostly walking my interest
@@dhgpan new balance 991 and 9060 are pure lifestyle types but 991 is firm but pleasant, 9060 seems weird, not flat and bulky
@@gogigp Saucony Triumph 21, Saucony Ride 17, Puma Deviate Nitro 2 and Asics Superblast! 🙂
The peg- the Toyota Camry of running shoes. Not the most exciting thing on the road, but it’ll get the job done.
Middle of the road stuff but that’s kinda ok
Novablast 4 or this
The blaster
Am I going mad or does this look like an Invincible 3? Are shoes getting bigger or are everyones legs getting smaller.
Similar. There’s more stack for sure than the 40
6mm droo instead of 10 and it would be a banger
Finally saw someone who shared the same opinion about 41. The midsole is dull and boring. I can't understand why Nike claims that it is 13% bouncier. After 100 miles and I still can't like it.
Tim Groose would have a
"KAYAK "😅😂

Running shoe guru didn't like the 41s much either. The aesthetics are good though.
It’s ok. Don’t dislike it. Just nothing new
"Incredibly long kayak" 🤣🤣🤣
This shoe is not just for running, people use it to play other sports as well. They need a good heel to toe transition. That's why the heel is curved and has good amount of traction. Not everyone needs a foamy plated shoe that's only suited for long runs. Try using your alphaflys for other sports 😂 you will See the Issue.
Traction is great on other models which cost less. Not sure why anyone would pick this up outside of running or gym.
