I would've liked very much to have seen "Mole" in BN2 called by his proper name "Rush" in Legacy Collection as well as Glyde's proper spelling restored in BN2-BN6...but no such look.
You can kill him easy: You have enough time to go for 3 times to the custom screen to have gutsman chips (yes its my favorite before getting protoman chips, on my way to internet 16 to farm quake 3 and knight sword C code but its totally worth it after numberman scenario and yes takes a couple of tries) the thing is once he has 4-3 hp you have less of a second to hit him so if you have them use them.
If you also have navi chips that can hit him and not break panels, you can drain its hp down to the number of navi chips you have in your hand (like 4 or 5), and hit it right when it pops up. Also pretty easy this way.
Under normal circumstances, if you don't know about pause scumming, you could make the wrong move and allow Rush to escape. I had troubles with Rush before I instinctively pause scummed.
Yeah, I can consistently get Rush to about 4hp without the exploit. Anything after that is guesswork for me. I was thinking of using prism or something but then I figured this out 😂

Wow I never actually thought about pause scumming for this guy. I just either did it the hard way and got lucky or used Anubis on him. I also used that one chip that destroys all panels except the one you and the enemy are on so I can just fire away at him as he will always spawn in the same lane as me.
You can actually do the same thing with in game mechanics, by using chips with a time stop effect/ chip restock screen. Just pop the time stop chip or open the chip restock menu as soon as you see the shadows spawn, and if your time stop of choice doesn't hit rush, you can just move and hit him with the buster before he ducks. Best saved for the last 4 hits cause he gets a lot faster then.
This is the original strategy for deletingall types of viruses and Navi bosses in all BN games since the GBA. I find it more fun to just kill pop-up dog using reaction time only

Ah yes, good ole pause scumming, the only way I could beat Bass and Protoman in 6 when the games were still new in GBA.

For me the tactic for getting the chip for 100% completion was to get him to 3-4 HP and finish the rest with Sharkman/Shadowman chips
