I've never done PVP in Battle Network, but this makes me realize I never put much thought into my deck structure beyond damage numbers and elemental advantages for bosses.

My friends and I all got back into BN3 about 9 years ago, and we knew then that building Custom Style with folders supporting one letter was optimal. We never really did research. All I remember is that we were mostly evenly matched, but I did assemble Plantman folder as a backup that just absolutely dominated. Now I see just how insane that Plantman folders are.
agreed. I did a couple fight back when the cable was the law, but against actual adversaries it's a completelly different game

probably wise to have a panel clear in you deck poison is no joke as its one of the worse things to have to deal with.
@@Chaosmage42 Elementman is pretty standard staple in folders and can change the board to grass.
@Melon I actually never got to play that version and it's kind of why i'm happy about this new collection.
I think float shoes in BN6 avoid poison panels so he was bad... also... he could had SlashCross to make him suffer when he was ChargeCros but got trash and wanted to go pew-pew...

I love it when people play so off-meta that nobody knows how to deal with it.
This is the way.
I will go out of my way to play off-meta in pretty much every game, every genre. Pokemon, racing games, shooters, flight sims, you name it. If there's a strange strat that nobody uses, I'm going to try to use it.

I was so confused why this video was titled like this going into the first minute or so and then I realized exactly why you said you ran into a yugioh player this dude was setting more traps in 1 turn than a typical yugioh player does for an entire duel 😂

Kiryu probably hasn't played YuGiOh in the past few years. It's basically OTKs and Engine Decks as far as the eye can see now, no need for proper trap cards anymore. lol

My man went all out dealing high damage and was going for that landslide win, but the moment that recovery was used I instantly knew it was over.

I’ve yet to start playing PVP, still working my way through each series. Hell I’ve been anticipating playing but I just need to setup the perfect Folder.
Dude at first i was "what is he cooking going BeastOut turn 2 and spamming the Gregar Buster", then went DestPuls, and there i knew. But what really sealed the match was the PoisonSeed on the upper area while the lower area was closed by a cracked panel and by his Anubid... There my suspicions became reality.
He is not to be messed with.
Remember, kids: Airshoes is your friend. It knows you only have 9 spaces to move in, and that many of them will contain poison or lava. It wants to help you.

Hmmm... I've compared this video and every strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh!. And I concluded that this is what we call "Burn and Stall" strategy. Where we damage the enemy indirectly (using effects/abilities "BURN") while making them unable to do anything in their places and waiting them to lose ("STALL"). It is a very common and sometimes broken strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh!. But in application to other games, it may become too annoying to counter in multiplayer even if you are too prepared for it.
This strategy is what got Morphing Jar #2 limited way back in the day of Pharaoh's Servant--because with three in your deck, you could basically just mill the opponent's deck all day and force their field to be reset, while hitting them with skull invitation for 300 for every card milled, then stall them out with a bunch of Waboku and Gravity Bind til they keeled over.
We call this 'control burn'. You don't have to perform ridiculous combos, you just have to throw enough pebbles to be far in the lead of the opponent's hp, when the countdown hits zero, and in between, just say no to anything that would let the opponent catch up.
Just waboku, negate attack,and magic cylinder in 3 makes me remind of it as annoying.
Similar to the above comment of calling it "control burn", in Magic, it's called "counter burn" (blue/red/X deck full of counter spells & burn spells)

This collection is insane, MMBN is practically a Souls PVP experience at this point in how busted and fun it can get, and I am here for all of this insanity.
I especially love how I can’t show match footage to literally anyone who hasn’t played a MMBN game because the ceiling of understanding is stupid high

I would say to play more aggressively; fine-tune your folder so that you can choose more chips every turn, attack more, kill him faster.
Although that circle gun @4:00 was unlucky

And in Legends you either pay for top tier stuff that you may also not get at all, while in here you literally have access to everything you need, you just need to grind for a bit. Which is 1000% way better. And in Legends you either use top tier stuff, or avoid PvP completely.
Here in Battle Network? Any deck can be considered viable. With some exceptions, but even then, even weak chips can be really strong.

From the title I thought this was going to be a player who didn't read what his chips did.
Back when the first Pendulum monsters came out, I did read any new released cards (thx YGOPro), as such we resolved all effects as planned and intended. It is just that some are way too impatient with reflecting on the RAW (rules as written) and thus are unprepared in the actual duels.
Yeah thats why people play more of duel links before. But Duel Links caught up now haja

This guy's deck is the reason why I carry around panel repair chips at all times hell even anything that'll change the panel to something that's not poison would be better than slowly dying of sickness

I mean, there are mean strategies you could do with traps like setting PoisonPharoah on their back row, using 3x Area Grab + Meteor (or Geddon + Snake) 🤣
And in 3 you can drop a pawn onto the other side of the PoisPhar, and then a pawn in front of your enemy, and just spam A while laughing at them sandwiched in front of a bunch of free sword attacks because someone had the genius idea to make three versions of metagel in addition to the areagrab *'s.
Assuming that you ever win the wrestling match for tiles, since the opponent probably has a similar deck setup just to prevent the likelihood of it happening to them.
Yeah, BN3 pvp goes nowhere fast unless you're curbstomping unprepared bastards who've only half-played the game. -.-;
Ah, and a burn deck skills as a cherry on top man that was a sick burn. It could rival VolTitan's Giga burn buster.

@KiryuGamingX yea he got you with dest pulse. It blinds you for 20 seconds, causes an hp bug and stuns you I think. 20 seconds feels like forever.

Ah. Yes. One of the many Labyrinth players that disappeared after it became apparent that Kashtira, Runick and Spright were too much to stave off all at once while also having to worry about Branded popping in and out of the format. And this was pre-Cyberstorm Access. Post CYAC these players are even more screwed with Superheavy Samurai and Purrely coming into the mix to make their Trap decks even more miserable to play.
I hate that I know exactly what you're talking about.
And this is why I started playing Hearthstone, instead. Because in Yu-Gi-Oh, turns do not have a meaning--you just compete for who can throw the most spanners in the clockwork of the opponent's deck.

How easy/hard is it for you to find people to go against in the lobbies? I’m playing mmbn2 and can’t seem to find anyone (I refuse to believe that it’s simply because mmbn2 isn’t popular. There has to be more players out there).

Growing up, I only had access to both versions of 3&4. Eventually, I got to play the rest of the series on roms and emulators. This was back when it was on gameboy, and you needed to find someone with a gameboy, the same game, and the special adapter needed to link up. I didn't own such an adapter. So I never got the chance to play another person. Now I have the anniversary collection on switch so I can actually play online, but I can't seem to find players anybody. I've tried on both 1&2. Can someone help me figure out what to do so I can just play? Win or lose, that's all I want to do. Thanks in advance.

Why can you use chips as counter like invis when the other player plays a dimming/interrupting chip?
Time Freeze Counter allows you to play a dimming chip if the enemy is dimming the screen.
This can chain forever, but only the last dimming chip you or your opponent plays will actually come out.

Why he did not use gregar cross while they are both stuck in one panel? He could've easily maximized damage during that moment.

Having a lot of HP is great and all, but I'm not sure I get the need to have a lot of defensive chips like auras, invisible, and anti-damage when HP is so high.
Muramasa would go well with a high HP pool though.
And if you want to do a fair amount of damage with the buster, maybe Slow Gauge so they can't get their chips as often while you blast them.
