    Fantastic car Lou, how nice to see a Hemi that's done 151,000 miles, so he really enjoyed and used it over the 47 years, must be one of the higher mileage Hemis still existing and still on the road being driven occasionally 👍👍👍

    Just a note about it being a Canada car. The Windsor Plant in Ontario ( South of the Detroit river) didn't make the Charger until 1975 which shared the body for the Cordoba at that time .
    The VIN info shows the XS29 (RT) R (426 ) 0 (1970 ) and the G for the St.Louis Plant . Canada would have also gotten the Michigan Plant Chargers from Detroit Lynch rd ( A ) and the Hamtramck outsdie Detroits border ( B ) .
    The good news about US exports to Canada is that Transport Canada had to be given a detailed sheet for every option on that model on top of the VIN id , that record was better than the Build Sheet by the Code descriptions that confirm the Buck tag or door plate codes .
    About 5 years ago i saw a video where someone came to canada to check out a 67 Vette with a 4 spd 427. The seller had the Import Sheet to match the car because it was still in the files to buy a copy from Transport canada .
    The USA sales had the Dealer Invoice copy which is needed today if you can't find the Build Sheet and you want to ID a special rare car to filter out the clones. FORD had a problem though in late 1961 when the built the 1962's Thunderbird Roadsters because there was no Code for them on the first 550 or so that had only used the Convertible body code 63A and Model Id 85Z . The dealer documents or purchased agreement is pretty well needed to spot a 1962 clone but the VIN sequence number must also be above 105843 while only 7 colour of the 18 were used and most were ragoon red with Black interior.
    In early December the 63B now would ID the Roadster plus the 89Z as the VIN numbers were now just over 105700 .
    Even those 61 produced Roadster shipped into canada would still have the Import Data sheet to prove it had all the upgrades and correct colour .

    He has that engine running perfectly. Its quiet for a Hemi and idles nicely. He purchased at the right time, during the oil embargo. It is almost where Dodge used to put the 383 MAGNUM, 440 MAGNUM and 426 HEMI badges on the 1966-'67 cars, if I remember correctly! And maybe again in 1970 with the 383 MAGNUM Super Bee and Coronet 500 too, I think! Thanks for your videos, Lou!

    So he paid $ 3 grand, worth around 50x that today ? Also I wonder if a Canadian built Charger is worth any more than one built in the US ? What a special car & a nice gentleman 👍

    • @jtp336
      @jtp336 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All 70 Chargers were built in the U.S., specifically at the St. Louis plant. What makes this a "Canadian" car, is that it was built for Canadian export (see code Y07 on the fender tag); meaning after assembly it went directly to Canada to be sold at the Canadian dealer who special ordered it.

      @Scalihoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jtp336 thanks for the info I knew GM built Chevelles in Canada & thought maybe Chrysler did the same with some of their models . According to that car's VIN shows 7th digit G .. it's built St. Louis as you mentioned..
      . Looks like they're building the chargers in Canada now ..www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2019/05/15/american-muscle-cars-built-in-canada

    Power windows were an option, not part of the SE package, so a Hemi RT/SE with power windows has to extremely rare. Great find & story. My first car was a 70 Charger SE B5 Blue with white vinyl (383 4 bbl auto). I've uploaded the original factory brochure to Hamtramck Historical's site, where most of the old brochures can be seen online.
