The soundtrack is very rich with musical symbolism. Another symbol is that a lot of the melody in this is variations on the motif present throughout the main characters' adventure in the main story, paralleling their journey up Temporal Tower as well as representing the struggle to buy time for them.
The ice representation is done mostly through the high-pitched bells that remind you of icicles and ice formations, coupled with the choir. That's my guess, anyway.
Sam Murray That's a synesthesic perception actually, and it looks like one of the composers (I think Hideki Sakamoto) is synesthesic too, there aren't this kind of scales in the first Mystery Dungeon game (except for Stormy Sea maybe).
The Saiyan I don't believe I'm synesthetic, I just acquired appreciation of symbolism from 12th grade AP English class, but then again I might be. If I am, it's very subtle, and has little effect. It's also worth saying that you can derive symbolism through repeated use, and it seems that most perception of music is based on how your culture has raised you, which is how we have multiple key systems that formed in different areas of the world.
The clink clink it could be associated with crystals (I think), and then can goes well with a crystal cave or with ice extension (crystal -> ice), perhaps some wind effect or instrument of high frequency will get perfect that feeling
The feel I got from this one was a very reminiscent feel of the Golden Sun sounds. Always loved the soundtracks to the PMD games and Golden Sun so that's a good thing! This project is moving along really well so far congrats on that!
Goodness. That sequence of notes at the beginning (and throughout the song, but I only got as far as the first second or two) are the hardest to transpose by ear. thank god for midis
Guildmaster Wigglytuff Want a Perfect Apple Guildmaster? Here is a map to a Forest full of them, forget Apple Forest when you have this map! :D .....And it's mine! >:D JK you can have it Guildmaster, but you have to take the entire guild with you on an expedition to the forest so we can harvest the entire forest ^_^
My first thought; It _sounds_ like ice. Somehow.
My second thought; It's _really_ good.

Holy crap.
***** I guess it's just impossible for me to like things, huh? And I can't even remember, to tell you the truth.
***** Neither.
Agreed. This is an awesome theme.
Oh man, I'm looking forward to this remaster project so much. Especially the special episode goodies like this one.
I did not know Riki liked Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, you seem more of a Pokémon Ranger fan.
+Theinsanegamer10 Riki is big fan of Mystery Dungeon, ain't that right brotherpon.
Riki The Legendary Heropon .............Okay, took a year but okay.
Seriously man, amazing work :D nice to see some love for this brilliant series
"For the future!"
If they ever remake PMD2 I really hope to hear your music in it bc this is fantastic! 💗
I think it's very possible they remake PMD2. And yes, *we need this in the remake.*
This sounds amazing
The *FLUTES*
Amazing and very adventurous piece of music. :) Keep up the great work!
I just want to listen to this forever.
Please.
Please.
Can you do Barren Valley? That theme is my all-time favorite!
Please?!
+Espeon804 Sorry Espie, he is doing it in a fixed, randomized order, no suggestions.
I love Barren Valley too! :3
Barren valley is very underrated. Imo dusk forest and barren valley give off very similar vibes to grovyle idk how to explain it
Still no Barren Valley...
You have got to do Vast Ice Mountain Peak next. Knowing you, it's gonna be beyond fantastic!
This is just AWESOME.
This literally feels like the most badA ice themes out there
LEGENDARY
......Vast Ice mountain, not quite as popular as vast ice mountain peak, but still good.
Was looking forward to Vast Ice Mountain Peak a lot, but this one doesn't sound too bad either. Is Vast Ice Mountain Peak still coming?
Fairly certain everything is getting remastered but I'm no in charge here so :P
Looking at how it turned out, EVERYTHING from Explorers got remastered.
@@ProfessionalNamielleLewder69 No dark wasteland or temporal tower :c
I love you.
>Vast Ice Mountain
>Not Vast Ice Mountain Peak
RNG why. ;___;
Still, awesome mix.
The RNG is doing the trolling for me, it seems
And I thought the original gave me chills!
thegüiroheroe
I saw a oscilloscope view of this song and thought it was from some unreal type game but nope pokemon lol that synth bass tricked me
All around that bass owo
If punching TGH is a 1, and slapping him is a 10, then this song is me kicking him in the gonads.
(But in all seriousness, gj as always.)
So you have an entire album downloaded for PMD1, but not PMD2?
+Eriah Sylverstone He is still working on it, although he is doing something else right now I guess?
You can't rush amazing things, remember, quality over quantity.
This song is nice but is not my favorite but is still good also what or who is RNG?
RNG = Random number generator. TGH is randomly selecting which track to remix.
ok thank you Guildmaster :3

I've played through this game four times, but I guess I forget what Vast Ice Mountain is,
