Now I sympathize with Marrs here and say that Shulk cheats more in the context of the game itself. Probably the most, actually, since he can literally change his weight class and statistics on a whim. Kazuya has a lot of moves, but he doesn’t really *cheat*, per se. It’s just that he has a larger plethora of skills at his disposal, even with his rage mechanic. *Editing this because I see a variety of comments with drastically different opinions (V2):* Though you may have different thoughts, it depends on the context in which you see “cheating”. For me, you can basically boil it down an unfair advantage or skill that no one else really has, and Kazuya only applies to that with his Rage-specific mechanic and his “always facing your foe” deal. Beyond that, he has other characteristics that aren’t exclusive to him, such as Super Armor on Smash Attacks, Immunity Frames on certain Recovery Options and Attacks, a Move that Reflects, the ability to stun/stagger an opponent with an Attack, and just having more Attacks/Moves than the average Smash Fighter. These characteristics are *not* exclusive to him. However, taking my same logic, the second best cheater imo would either be Hero or Min-Min, but I’d say Hero more. - I’m not saying Kazuya isn’t busted with his 0 to Deaths, I’m just saying that, in the context of what I define as a cheater, he hardly has any “cheater qualities”.
No, Kazuya definitely has some cheater moves. The main thing is that because Shulk isn’t a top tier, almost nobody plays him well enough to get into big tournaments and show the world just how bulls**t the gimmick of “my sword lets me be a different character” really is.

But even if he had 30% chances of winning, as you estimate, calling in an expert raises those odds to 50%, by your own estimations. It was a good move. Never seek external help Coney. Don't you know this series is built on every character being mischaracterized by at least two people on the couch at any given time. The last thing you want to do is set the record strait for any particular character, else they'll never be able to compete with whatever BS came before.
As a shulk main I have to say that shulk cheats more than kazuya. He not only has a "get down out of disadvantage" button that also happens to prevent kill moves from working, but he also has the ability to make all his moves deal like 50% while having no knock-back so they can combo more, and he can make it so all his moves will just kill you at like 30%. Not to mention that he has the sonic speed and free recovery buttons also.
ridley would be nutty at basketball. Dude's big enough that he'd cover half the court, no one would be able to steal from him, he could literally fly to the basket, plus he's smart enough to know how the game works.

I think Shulk cheats more because he changes his stats to make him a completely different person. Kazuya has easy touch of death combos but there is at least some kind of counterplay
Shulk’s Monados also make him worse. Smash makes him die earlier and buster makes him take more damage. Kazuya on the other hand has random invisibility and armor on like everything.

Vikki actually won with that Olimar card. Dude just leaves behind all the pikmin, creatures that literally can't survive without someone to command them, at the ends of both 1 and 2. Plus he just "forgets" to bring Louie with him back home at the first ending of Pikmin 2. Dude also gets emails from his wife and kids throughout the game saying like "It was my birthday today. And even if you call that too basket interference or whatever, he could do the same thing to whichever player has the ball. JUst stand in front of them with his wings outstretched around their body until they A) try to pass (unsuccessfully) and Ridley's team gets it, or B) run out of time on the shot clock and the ball goes to Ridleys team. The other team can't win if they can't score, and Ridley never even has to hold the ball

Nah Ridley would be a beast at basketball. He’s built like a basketball star: extremely tall and lanky, so he’d have shaq levels of defense and rebounding because of his size, especially with those wings. He’s probably one of, if not the most intelligent in the cast, and he’s got incredible hand eye coordination l, if his trailer is anything to go by, where he bursts through a catwalk, catches Mario’s hat on his finger and starts twirling it. The potential.

Y’all did vikki dirty. Palutena and Kirby are garbage runner ups after yoshi. Jumps extremely high, has insane accuracy on his throws, and can probably break some ankles by turning the ball into an egg or something and having it bounce around like crazy. Also, Olimar is 100% the flakiest. “Hey I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to throw you over this chasm to kill this enemy so that the rest of us can get home safe. I promise I’ll come back for you.” R.I.P. that pikmin.
At least kazuya has a bad disadvantage. Shulk just escapes true combos with shield art, something no other character can do. I think shulk won that personally.
I think a fun way in the future to incentivize the players not to use their best cards right away would be to award the winner of the round as many points as there were cards played. So, if everybody used all of their cards and the last card won then that person would get 21 points (or however many cards they all have total, I just assumed it was like 7 each), however if the first person to go plays too good of a card from the start then they only get one point.

Edit: Okay, a lot of people are saying he would pop the ball as soon as he grabs it, but who says he needs to grab it to be good? His defensive skills would be amazing. He could literally just stand straight up in front of the basket with his wings outstretched and no one would be able to shoot.
And even if you call that too basket interference or whatever, he could do the same thing to whichever player has the ball. JUst stand in front of them with his wings outstretched around their body until they A) try to pass (unsuccessfully) and Ridley's team gets it, or B) run out of time on the shot clock and the ball goes to Ridleys team. The other team can't win if they can't score, and Ridley never even has to hold the ball

He’s built like a basketball star: extremely tall and lanky, so he’d have shaq levels of defense and rebounding because of his size, especially with those wings. He’s probably one of, if not the most intelligent in the cast, and he’s got incredible hand eye coordination l, if his trailer is anything to go by, where he bursts through a catwalk, catches Mario’s hat on his finger and starts twirling it.

Y’all did vikki dirty. Palutena and Kirby are garbage runner ups after yoshi. Jumps extremely high, has insane accuracy on his throws, and can probably break some ankles by turning the ball into an egg or something and having it bounce around like crazy. At least kazuya has a bad disadvantage. Shulk just escapes true combos with shield art, something no other character can do. I think shulk won that personally.

I think a fun way in the future to incentivize the players not to use their best cards right away would be to award the winner of the round as many points as there were cards played. So, if everybody used all of their cards and the last card won then that person would get 21 points (or however many cards they all have total, I just assumed it was like 7 each), however if the first person to go plays too good of a card from the start then they only get one point.
