I’ve watched a lot of videos in the last week on Digital Planning. This is a great video for how to create a planner. You’re creating it with an app that is free for all iOS users which is a bonus. The basics are not difficult. Creating a beautiful or aesthetically pleasing planner is another story. I recently retired and creating my own digital planner is on my list of things to do. Last week I purchased an undated digital planner and after playing with it I have a better idea of what I really need. After I make a few birthday cards I can focus on creating my planner. Thanks again.
Just recently got an ipad, first timer. Wanted to do something in my spare time and seeing these planners looked like such a great idea. You have helped me understand the functions of apps and how to make my very own planners. You do go abit quick at times but there is plenty of information I needed and it's great! I believe you can also hyperlink the tabs on your original slide before copying it to create new pages so that the copied slides all contain the hyperlinks from the original hyperlinked slide. If you’re filling in the tabs with the months, etc. you might also want to do that on the original slide before copying it. Should save you a lot of time over copying and pasting individual elements. Great video!

Thanks for making this video. Since you have a fairly popular channel, I’d like to offer some feedback. There were multiple times in this video where you instructed to “do this, then tap this and do this” in some form or another- but there was no explanation as to why the action/s were necessary. I followed the directions. But it would be nice to know during the demonstration why the steps are necessary. It creates more of a memory base for the students moving forward when we try to execute on our own. I hope that was more helpful than harmful. I appreciate your time.

A part 2 is in the works! But here's the preview: check out my channel. I have uploaded a brief video a few months ago where I show how to make three different templates. Also, the answer to your questions is both! If I know ahead of time that I want a permanent template in my planner, I use Keynote. Once it's exported, I can't change it. I use GoodNotes for adding digital stickers, colors, and more. I also will import templates as an image too. I hope this helps!

Kirstin, you are a wealth of knowledge. Haven't missed a single one of your tutorials! Hope you can help me tho... I noticed that my planner was perfect in Keynote, but half of the top tab I created is missing in Goodnotes. I didn't realize that there was a separate pdf file that was saved until I rewatched this video, and when I open it, it is sorta misaligned if you scroll top to bottom. Any idea why this might have happened? Can I reExport my original Keynotes presentation, starting all over in Goodnotes? Often wondered if this was possible if you wanted to do a redesign adding more pages/links and editing the presentation. Thank You
Hmm... unsure. I personally haven't encountered this issue or know anyone who has. It might just be that any elements you used to create the planner extended that of the slide. Re-exporting the file back to Keynotes is likely to create more issues. Powerpoint and Keynote files struggle to convert back from PDF files. You'll also lose all your links that way and anything you added to the planner in PDF form will be locked and unmovable in Keynote/Powerpoint form. I recommend going back to your original planner file in Keynote and decreasing the size of your elements, ensuring that they are all contained within the confines of the slide. Once in GoodNotes, you can add more pages (but not links) through the copy and paste page feature (which I show how to do in my digital planning questions video and a few other videos on my channel).
@@KDigitalStudio Yes, that was my question. Could I reExport the original KeyNote presentation as if it had never been exported? I guess what I was trying to touch upon further was if you can reExport these files, you could add/update anything you'd like to have had in the original and end up with an entirely different planner/journal. I just wasn't aware that you could go back into KeyNote and basically do a REDO on an export. Thought once it was exported that was it..."too bad, so sad". Understand that you couldn't do the reverse. Thanks so much K!
Can you do this for the updated version of keynote? The app is laid out differently now and the dimensions are different for the presentation so I don’t know if that will be a problem when importing it into goodnotes

Love your videos so much! But I'm not loving the Keynote app yet...the drop down menus cover my slide and i cant see the changes I'm making. For instance, when adding drop shadows I have to get out of the menu to see what changed. It is so annoying! I also can't zoom in and work on the edges of the slide because it "snaps" to the edge of the screen where I can't reach it. Do you know how to fix this? I'd love for the slide to just stay where I put it. Many thanks!!
Well.. I know a few money costing apps and free apps! The non costing one is ibis paint x and the money costing one is procreate in my opinion procreate is good from my experience using it!
Such a helpful video. I just got my ipad and am now obsessed with making my digital planner. One question... when making pages like weekly planning and individual daily planning, do I need to make one for each day of the year and link each one and link to that same one. Will it erase the previous day if so? I'd like to keep it for records but I'm assuming with digital planning that might not be an option?

I guess what I was trying to touch upon further was if you can reExport these files, you could add/update anything you'd like to have had in the original and end up with an entirely different planner/journal. I just wasn't aware that you could go back into KeyNote and basically do a REDO on an export. Thought once it was exported that was it..."too bad, so sad". Understand that you couldn't do the reverse. Thanks so much K!

Can you do this for the updated version of keynote? The app is laid out differently now and the dimensions are different for the presentation so I don’t know if that will be a problem when importing it into goodnotes

Love your videos so much! But I'm not loving the Keynote app yet...the drop down menus cover my slide and i cant see the changes I'm making. For instance, when adding drop shadows I have to get out of the menu to see what changed. It is so annoying!
I also can't zoom in and work on the edges of the slide because it "snaps" to the edge of the screen where I can't reach it. Do you know how to fix this? I'd love for the slide to just stay where I put it. Many thanks!!

Well.. I know a few money costing apps and free apps! The non costing one is ibis paint x and the money costing one is procreate in my opinion procreate is good from my experience using it!
Such a helpful video. I just got my ipad and am now obsessed with making my digital planner. One question... when making pages like weekly planning and individual daily planning, do I need to make one for each day of the year and link each one and link to that same one. Will it erase the previous day if so? I'd like to keep it for records but I'm assuming with digital planning that might not be an option?
