Heian jidai in Japan was influenced by the Tang dynasty, that is why some words they called " Kara 唐 " which means Tang = China Karaginu = cloth from Tang Karakasa = Tang's umbrella and ... they learn Kanji through ancient Chinese poetry such as 李白
