One thing I do like about Cranky's review is it is his personal views and experiences and not it is a "You must have!" like so many reviews that get posted on TH-cam Yes I to have a Passche Model H and it more one of the early version I got second have. Well looked after and is a true work horse. But like many it what works well for myself. Others it dose not.
I use the Passche VL, pretty nice piece, I have 2 one for dark and one for light color. I think the ''s'' on the VH is for the Side feed. Thanks for the videos.
I was just looking at your archives to see if you had a vid like this so thank you doc I am going to get a airbrush I was thinking of a gravity feed but I will keep watching and see what you have in the lab take care buddy
That looks like a good airbrush. I've heard good things about Paasche too. I may have to look at adding something like this to my workline. Thank you for this wonderful Series Doc. Take care my friend.
that is a awesome airbrush i have had mine for over 25 years i just stopped using it cause it died (boohoo) thanks for the info mate!!!! everyone should have one i will buy it again soon (hope) you have a good one mate!!!
i feel lucky you started this series with my 1st airbrush..Doc could you touch on some of the hazards if you try to spray with too much or too little air pressure and how you go about finding wheres the sweet spot..loaded question no doubt..many different scenarios come into play here, you could probably make another video just on that..hint hint hahhah thanks Doc..appreciate all you do for us..
Whoa! What planet are you referring to when you say the best price is the Passche website?? The website has this airbrush priced at $56, which is only a little over DOUBLE the $25.99 that Hobby Lobby sells them for, even before the 40% off coupon (which seems to be permanent on their website) is applied. With the coupon, figure it's $15.60 vs $56.00
Hello, BEGINNER AIRBRUSHER here! I have the same set my wife purchased for me for Christmas. I couldn't wait to try it out once I ordered the paint online. I ordered the paint from a website called GRAVITY COLORS. The paints are pre-thinned so I wouldn't have to worry about thinning them in the first place. For the life of me, I still can't seem to get the paint to flow out. The air out of the compressor works fine, just not the paint. When I do get paint out, it only lasts a second or two. I tried cleaning it multiple times, used different nozzles, anything you can think of...I've done. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Neal S.
+JET It does not require anywhere near that. I have been using one for 30 years and can spray anywhere from about 13-15 PSI and up. You just have to have the right nozzle/thinner/PSI ratio.
Great video! I am looking for a new airbrush for my professional makeup kit and I was wondering if the Paasche H would be suitable to do foundation or a few makeup details with a water or silicone based product (using a airbrush medium if necessary)? I am obligated to have a Paasche compressor to make it work? Thanks!
So, will you guys recommend this airbrush for coating areas and not for details? Thats the message I get for the video, it seems to work fine for modeling.
Please tell me Dr Crankey do you still use this airbrush? I have a couple of quit expensive air brushes by Harder And Steenbeck which are both double action brushes but l would like to get a single action brush for certain applications. would you still recommend it? Thanks.
I currently have a 150 airbrush and ive used it quite a bit and i think its time to get a new one i have used the iwata eclipse once and i loved the airbrush but i was wondering would you recomend it for base coats and clear?
say it five times fast "Free Flea Spray" LOL…. Great video! I have to admit, I did not like this airbrush, it gave me lots of troubles, I have had no luck with any syphion fed airbrushes. Thanks for sharing
I have the same airbrush...i also need to get a part or two for my 2 stage aztek...and i think i could do almost anything with them both...need to start using it though is my only problem but i need to find a water trap/air filter to keep moisture out though?
Would a Iwata Ninja Jet compressor be enough? I'm looking for something small to paint 1:14 Tamiya trucks, the Paasche H seems to be perfect for these large models.
Have this airbrush and find it clogs frequently when using acrylics. Maybe have to thin more the paint and swap the needle, I´m using the #1. Need an airbrush for painting my model locomotives. What is your advice?
I just bought one. started using it as it worked well for 5 min.then it stopped spaying paint. the air was still running at 15psi but no paint and I had enough paint. I took cup off and cleaned cup refilled with thinner and still nothing but air???? help. thanksbin advance anyone.
Could anybody help me find parts to connect this to a shop compressor? Just bought a Paasche H and not sure what parts to get to connect this to my compressor.
Hey Doc,,Interesting you should lead off with that airbrush kit! I have that one too! I'ts great for the heavy work and I love mine. I have been using syphon feed since I started using airbrushes but I recently got a very good deal on an Iwata Neo. Nice piece, mid level, not top of the line but I got it for about $40 at Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon. I'd be interested to know what you think of the Neo. Thanks Doc and I'll stay tuned in!
thanks doc. just inheritad this set and am learning to use it. ill b standing by---
H vs HS = Screw connection for bottle on the HS version - only difference.
Thanks for the informative video, very helpful as I’m shopping for my first airbrush. Seems to be a great one to start with.

awesome vid
The cheapest place to buy Paasche airbrushes and parts is from Paasche themselves. They have a store on their website.

is it okay to use craftsmart paints on this airbrush?
Doc...thanks for great informative video. What Airbrush do you recommend for detail work
I still have my Grandfathers H still in the case it came in. not sure what year but it has a 4 digit serial number
my cup from this airbrush is clog but is the best way to un clog it
Soak it in cheap lacquer thinner for a while.
Then run a pipe cleaner through it.
I recently picked up the Paasche EZ-Starter beginner kit from Hobby Lobby. No real instructions..any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
David, practice on spare bodies. Plastic spoons. Etc . . . until the flow/pressure/stroke begin to become second nature.
Doc...TCP Global has a 40% discount on the H...also can find great buys on Ebay

+Neal Stokes It sounds to me like the paint is still perhaps a bit too thick. Also, check to make sure you are using the thinner needle.
+JET It does not require anywhere near that. I have been using one for 30 years and can spray anywhere from about 13-15 PSI and up. You just have to have the right nozzle/thinner/PSI ratio.

Correct. It's not a detail airbrush. General purpose.
Please tell me Dr Crankey do you still use this airbrush? I have a couple of quit expensive air brushes by Harder And Steenbeck which are both double action brushes but l would like to get a single action brush for certain applications. would you still recommend it? Thanks.
Yes, I would. It's still a wonderful airbrush for primer, basecoat single color application, and for clear coating too.
Thank you so very much for replying so promptly and also for your valued advice.
Che colori si possono utilizzare??

nordemoniac Any compressor that can give you up to 45psi will work just fine with the H SET.
Have this airbrush and find it clogs frequently when using acrylics. Maybe have to thin more the paint and swap the needle, I´m using the #1. Need an airbrush for painting my model locomotives. What is your advice?
Try using a retardant that you can get from an art store to have it cure more slowly.
I just bought one. started using it as it worked well for 5 min.then it stopped spaying paint. the air was still running at 15psi but no paint and I had enough paint. I took cup off and cleaned cup refilled with thinner and still nothing but air???? help. thanksbin advance anyone.
where do i look for the coupons doc?
Could anybody help me find parts to connect this to a shop compressor? Just bought a Paasche H and not sure what parts to get to connect this to my compressor.
Go to HomeDepot, Lowes, or Ace and talk to someone in the plumbing department or air compressor section.
How do you replace the tips?
You use the supplied wrench to take it apart; the tip replacement requires a tool.
Doc hope u can demo how to use/clean the H!
