To add to Shermans Mod, if you switch the pocket clip crew and brass washer for the lockbar screw you will not need to drill a hole or use jb-weld. I have mine setup like this with a silver 9mm lock. It looks nice with the Gray and black. Thanks Sherman for figuring this out for us. Steve
That is your opinion, and to each his own. I made a piece for my knife, by hand, that's worth more than the metal disk Kershaw put on it. So it's worth more, has branding on it so that you know it's real, it takes something from a firearm and adding it to a knife, which is pleasing to both gun, and knife guys.
Very cool. To the nay sayers it's his knife and he added a personal touch to a mass produced item to make it his own. If I my ask how did you get the primer out of the fired casing ?
Thank you, brother! The problem is, is that every one is a different size. I think the ones used on a ZT 0301 are .40 S&W, but I'm not sure. And I'd need the screw from the knife's original lock bar stabilizer, since I do not own either a 0301, or a Strider. However I COULD start making them for the Cryo and ZT 0560!
Good vid. As soon as I got this knife today and seen that it had the lockbar stop I planned on doing this cuz I've seen it on the higher end knives. I didn't realize the primer hole was to big though. How's the jb-weld holding up? I've never used that stuff? Do u think it will last the life of the knife or should I figure out a better way to do it? I have a a bag full of brass and a dremel ready to go.lol
Thank you! And absolutely. I'll need to wait unto mine gets back from KAI so I can size the lock bar stabilizer to be able to make sure I have the right fit :) When I do, I'll send you a PM with a price.
Thanks for the vid, that looks awesome! I just picked up a Kershaw Cryo from Wally' World yesterday and love it already. What a great Idea, I have some brass .9mm and some steel .9mm and will have to see how the steel one looks too. How short did you cut the casing, and about what diameter did you end up drilling out where the primer was ? Thanks for the vid and mod - doing it this weekend hopefully! - God Bless
I tried this with a kershaw cryo and kershaw ferrite but a 9mm was just a bit too big. However, the slightly smaller casing from a 5.56x45 fit perfectly. Have they changed the size of the lockbar stabilizer since this video was made? Anyway, this is really cool!
Good job man. I made them for my ZT 0550, 0560 n strider SNG. I also made one out of carbon fiber for a blk gunner grip tiger stripe SNG! That looks SICK with the carbon fiber. Check out my vid if u want bro! Later man, Jasen

Steve
fantastic idea! turned out awesome too!
Really nice adaption at what Steel Flame does for Hinderer knives. Cept yours are from real bullets. Nice job Dan.

Looks great Dan!
Any time you'd like! ;)
looks really goos with that titanium nitride coating and the gold contrast, might have to do it to mine when I get it
I had thought about that after I made this one, but I would think the primer would slip out of the bottom. Unless it's just press fitted that well.
Very cool and looks good, nice idea.
Thank you!
Thank you, brother!
Dude looks cool.i may try this. I have a Cryo II
Nice work bro! I'm want to make a few of these for some of my folders like my Strider SMF & ZT 0301.
That looks great. Very neat job mate!
tht is the coolest mod on a knife ive ever seen!
Lol! I know, man. I'm thinking Hinderer originally got the idea from a bullet casing
I believe the size of a 0300 are about a .45 cal size.
That looks really awesome.
Oho, nice man ! Might try that. Good job, looks sweet
Thank you! I'm glad you like them. I knock it out of the bottom with a small tack and a hammer :)
looks professional to me!
sweet! might have to do that with my ZT301
that is so sick! that was such a good idea. let us know if you decide to sell these. i wonder if it would fit my ZT 0301 or Strider SMF?
very cool mod! looks great!
Blazer uses aluminum casings which they sell in 9mm.
That is really nice!
Cool idea, a tula steel case 9mm would go well color wise!
I did the same mod on my cryo with a .45 acp and on my blackwash cryo 2 I did a black shell .45 acp.
That's awesome brotha !!!!
sweet shit bro that looks bad ass!!!
You mean like a nickel plated casing? I agree, but you have to use a 9mm, and all I had were brass :) But I actually like the contrast

Yes, I do sell these
I have a whole bunch of just the casings :)
how do you take those off bulletss!? those are so freakin bad ass dude!
I originally assumed that they would fall out, but in my tests they were actually quite strong!
I was wondering about that but I thought maybe since u didn't do that in the first place maybe they fell out when u cut the base off
I agree! :) I like the contrast. I'm going to make one for my 0560 when I get it back. I believe those stabilizers are the size of a .40 S&W though
Looks good, but I think maybe an aluminum or steel case would look sweeter.
Oh man that's super cool!
Thank you, man! And have you? That's awesome! I want to make one for my 0560 when I get it back from KAI
Very kool my man.
that's awesome man.
You could of also left the primer in & drilled through that.

i would love to hv one. Thks
Looks mint
Thank you!

Lol, I doubt any knife company will ever put these on their knives. The problem is trade mark issues.
I really like that, I am going to try the mod myself, thanks!!!
Yes!
definitely cool, I think I might try it but I'm going to try and incorporate a metal back to fill the hole.
I haven't really decided on a price yet, but if you're really interested, send me a PM and we can work something out :)
That is badass!
Trying this with my thermite this weekend! Thanks for the idea!
Can I please buy one that is ready to be put on the knife?
Very cool
I could probably sell these if someone would want one, yes :)
what is a lock bar stabilizer.
It is used to stabilize the liner/frame lock from over extending.
Do you know if the diameter of the stabilizer bar on the cryo is the same as the ferrite?
That's Awesomely Cool Dude. :D
what's next for the cryo?
look so sweet
Q: Could I add one on any knife? Is it easy to do?
greatest thing I've ever seen
how much, those are so bad ass!!!!!
The Sage 2 doesn't have a lock bar stabilizer. I just replaced the one that came on my Cryo with the one I made
makes u wonder if that was done unpurpose being the same size, knowing us nuts gotta mod everything we get out hands on lol
So when can I buy one of these for my Cryo?
How much for one
ya nvm. by the way how much would you charge me if i wanted a BA lanyard with i sick bullet bead with it?
You put those up for sale?
ok cool thanks!
Where do I send payment? And how much is it?
Hey man, how would I get one of these?
How much? And where do I send payment?
Nope original isnt flush either. The gold looks sexy as hell especially because it's slightly hidden by the pocket clip.
Do you sell these? Very interested in purchasing one for my cryo!
Anywhere that has the best price :) Amazon a lot, or BladeHQ, LApolicegear, Opsgear, Knifecenter, ect.
I'm a serious buyer. How much and how can I purchase it?
I have that knife
Do you sell these?can ship to Hong Kong??

i could see knife companys stealing that idea sherman.

Does this only work on the Cryo or will 9mm fit the Cryo 2 as well?
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I believe it should work with both :)
Do you have any of these for sale by chance? I'd love to add this mod to my kershaw cryo if possible.
Yes, send me a private message with your email address

Capitol Coolness!!!
How can I contact you? Email? I sent you a facebook message but you havent responded
I have figured out a much better, stronger method. I now leave the primers in, and drill through the dent the firing pin makes.
Could u make one for me and send it to me ill pay you
Thank you!
Thank you, brother!
