Shogun: Assassins Enter Osaka Castle While Everyone Sleeps, Yabu Murders Captain Yoshinaka

- Shogun: As Assassins climb the walls of Osaka Castle, Lord Kashigi Yabu (Frankie Sakai) has been given orders from Lord Ishido to murder Captain Yoshinaka (Rinichi Yamamoto), if he wants to live until tomorrow. Lord Yabu has hired many Ninja Assassins to attack and murder Anjin-San. Captain Yoshinaka's Samurai Warrior Guards observed that Captain Yoshinaka never left Lord Yabu’s room.

Shogun, The Millions-Of-Copies Sold Novel, was written by James Clavell. There was an A-List Cast, an A-List Director, an A-List Musical Score from Maurice Jarre, and A-List production quality with amazing sets and intricate costumes, detailed for that time era. Yabu-Sama was unmistakably ruthless and self-serving. His arrogance and treachery cost him his belly and his head. Justice was late but ultimately served.
Bad Yabu always making trouble for everyone.
I read the book twice in 1983.
It was so good.
It ignited my interest not just in William Adams but Japan.
Clavel served as a prisoner with the Japanese.
If someone or group of people have a foot on your kneck and your life hangs on a whim, you learn how they tick.
I can't forget the look on lord yabus face when Toronaga made anjin san samurai. It was a look of jealousy and hate.

@@theshogunchannelor the look on Yabu's face when the two samurai guards that step out from the other samurais in the line and point out that Yabu killed Captain Yoshinaka-san.
I know this the tipical "non-historically accurate" representation of ninjas, but it was a really epic passage in the book. The amida assassin atempt on taking Anjin-san's life was good too.
There is no reason why ninjas wouldn't wear dark, concealing clothes, during a nighttime infiltration like that. Pretending to be someone else to sneak into the castle through "social stealth" would not have been possible.
@@whitemouse2460 you play too much Tenchu, my friend. I wouldn't be even possible to infiltrate a heavily guarded castle like this. Nighttime it's not an excuse, as they had many source of lights. The black clothed ninjas are fantasy.

"For example, you venture out with a black kimono on top and kimono of fine patterns underneath, and when you return, you put on the black kimono underneath the one of fine patterns, which is now on top.
Remember, on a pitch-dark night you should wear something black and on a moonlit night you should avoid black.
From "Shoninki", medieval ninja document from Kushu province:
"In addition, clothes should be dyed green, black or deep purple. There are various types of surroundings, therefore, select the appropriate color for blending in.
...You can also lightly apply ink to the skin...."

Can someone please translate all that was said between Yoshinaka and Yabu from 3:21 to 3:57 when Yoshinaka was stabbed? I've always wondered what the final dialogue was. It was so irritating to have no subtitles 😮
