Can I beat Pokémon Shield using only #TeamSeas Themed Pokémon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first #TeamSeas Themed Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Eligible #TeamSeas Pokémon: All Water Type Pokemon, Galarian Corsola/Cursola, Galarian Weezing, Cubchoo/Beartic, Bergmite/Avalugg, Eiscue

The vast majority of ocean pollution is created by countries with no inhibition placed on its production (namely China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines). If you want to save the ocean, eliminate the cause instead of trying to empty it bucket by bucket.

I busted out laughing when he apologized for mispronouncing condemnation in the same series where saying names wrong on purpose has turned into a running gag. Honestly, if he hadn’t done that, I would have figured it was intentional.

The reason Obstagoon survived at around 25:00 because all of Piers' Pokemon have good IVs to make up for the lack of Dynamax

IDK if others have said it, but I prefer these runs over one type runs. It allows for more team variety for both the viewer and the content creator. Good vid!
I agree with what you said about the character designs. Despite a lot of the sword and shield controversy this game has some of the most charming and likeable gym leaders in franchise history.
I'm also pretty annoyed at how much Gamefreak loves to shove Charizard into our faces. After an entire game of NPC's hyping up Leon's as oh so powerful and cool, it was an immense satisfaction on my part to oneshot the stupid lizard with my Toxtricity.

My mum and I grew up in Australia. When my mum was young she could see how colorful the Great Barrier Reef was from miles off the coast, but whenever she took me there after I was there were no colors at all. It brings my mum great pain to see that it has come to this.
And sadly our government doesn't even pretend to care about our beautiful reef. :(

I'm happy to see a SwSh run from you. However many flaws the games have, I still really love them. Sword was the first Hardcore Nuzlocke I ever beat and I have very fond memories of my run. I want to try experimenting with different types of restrictions for Nuzlockes in the games when I finish playing through the older gens, something like a heavily-limited wild area run (eg one wild area encounter AND/OR 1 TR per badge only) and see how it plays, since my experience suggests that the aspect of the game that most lowers difficulty (aside from Dynamax which is also banned) is easy access to very powerful moves from fairly early on. I'd probably also ban Gyarados, mind...
Anyway, great work as always, looking forward to the next video!

Funnily enough, the barboach in motostoke thing actually did help my friends and I get an extra encounter in our 3 person soulink (we had dupes clause in effect for all three of us, if we couldn’t get barboach, we wouldn’t be able to get an encounter made of only 2 Pokémon)

Thank you for the information on the Barboach spawn in Motostoke. Wasted 6 hours over two days while doing a competitive water only nuzlocke with a friend. Greatly appreciate it FlygonHG
The great barrier reef is not dead. It has been left devastated by the mass bleaching events of 2016 and 2017 and has lost over 50% of it's polyp population, but to imply an ecosystem that spans 2300km of coastline is completely and irreversibly destroyed is misleading.

@@RastaWayne-di4sj The organic reef structure is only about 8000 years old. Why would you choose to use pessimistic and misleading language to describe ecosystem decay? "Dead" means irreversibly, irrevocably destroyed. There is immense potential to reintroduce living polyps to the coral deserts, regardless it does a tremendous disservice to the vibrance and reliance of the existing environment. If the reef is "dead" we have no hope to rectify the wrong, if the reef is "damaged" it can be repaired.

4:28 I've encountered the exact same issue in my recent Nuzlocke, but with Magikarp in Slumbering Weald, every major site states that it was a 20% fishing encounter, but I fished for an hour with 0 Magikarp encounter, only Barboach and Whiscash show up, so I gave up, maybe it only spawns in a specific fishing spot.
I think it’s because that spot is shady, barboach like shade, I have absolutely no proof of this beyond i like shade.
That Eternatus fight and the lesson that came from it is by far the best bit 😂

The reason why brick break didn't OHKO Piers Obstagoon is because it's either got max IVs in its defenses, or max EVs in its defenses (can't remember which) to make it just about as hard to take out as a dynamaxed Pokémon. Sadly it isn't maxxed in it's attack so it doesn't fully resemble dynamaxing.

I love the comically "bad" pronunciations, and seeing someone who has worked in language and communication at the PhD level will still frequently misspell/mispronounce words gives me more confidence in my own linguistic abilities.

He has been doing the run still, he has a vods channel you can check out called flygonhg vods. He was doing a smeargle nuzlocke, and started the brilliant diamond nuzlocke, plus theres a christmas nuzlocke he will be doing so id say hes probably like 75% towards 2 videos atleast.

Me and my friends got a little running gag that FlygonHG is the BingingWithBabish of Pokemon challenge TH-camrs. Just the way he combines precise information and interesting facts with deadpan humor makes these videos really funny and creates a really smooth flow from one part to the other, like a Babish video

No humans didn't destroy the Great Barrier Reef The Reef is coming back rather nicely actually. In part because humans are spending millions of dollars figuring out how to protect and farm the corals necessary to repopulate The Reef. Nintendo and Game Freak made galarian corsola to represent the fact that there used to be reefs around the British Isles but as the planets orbit changed slightly it got too cold and The Gulfstream wasn't able to keep it warm enough anymore and the coral reefs around Britain and Ireland died. The last time we have any documentation of their being living corals around Britain and Ireland was back in the 1600 before we had enough petroleum technology to do anyting in terms of global warming as a species and long before the invention of plastic.
