Hi Chris, thanks for the great video. I noticed on your steering wheel on the left, you at least have the basic volume control buttons, exactly like my 2010 Honda Civic. In your video, you say “we don’t have steering wheel controls in this civic” so you’re using the basic scosche HA10B harness, BUT In your description it says “If you have steering wheel VOLUME CONTROLS get the Crux harness”.
Could u confirm for me if the scoshe worked with controlling the volume of the Sony Radio via steering wheel volume? I’m just a bit confused so I want to make sure if I get the basic Scoshe, the volume button on the steering wheel will control the volume on the Sony? I will be installing the exact radio you installed so I just want to make sure I’m taking the correct products to my mechanic. Thanks In advance.

Heyy I’m having an issue with no sound. I have no idea what it is. I have a DX so no premium sound system. I’m getting power. And I kno the speakers work. Have any ideas. What did u do with the secondary harness that was plugged into the oenology radio. Cause you have the main. Then there an additional one that I can’t figure out. And it only has 6 wires and after looking for hours and hours. It doesn’t have that light blue wire that would be the amp power on. You didn’t seem to bypass the amp here so any advice.

If you have steering wheel volume controls you would like to retain with your civic, use the Crux SWRHN-62B harness adapter instead of the Scosche HA10B Wiring Harness Adapter. The Crux adapter is a simple plug and play unit which allows you to keep those buttons working on the steering wheel with the new radio. Cheers!

Sounds like you have the factory amplified sound system. You will need to connect the blue / white wire in your harness adapter to your radio.

@@ProvoBeastAudio when you connect the blue and white to the radio is it canceling out the factory amp ?

No, it retains and turns on the factory amplifier. Only way to "cancel' a factory amplifier is to bypass and remove it.

Definitely the best of the few I watched. , I've wired quite a few , so that wasn't my question(s) , my stock oem radio had 2 plugs, 1 plug I can only guess is for the steering wheel controls ???
Also the L brackets you used , my face plate came with but the holes didn't match up with the cheapo head unit I have which also came with metal L brackets. I was able to drill/modify those brackets. Longest part of my install, lol.
I'm gonna watch your backup camera video. Thanks ! For the guidance and reassurance

Soldering will always have a better connection. Heat shrink will allow you to have a better seal and protection so nothing arcs/grounds out. That is the last thing you want to happen, especially if you bought an expensive unit.
