I love it! Especially the fact that it was made with CNC. The handle looks super clear and polished, contrasting with the rest. Maybe aging or staining or surface burning it would be cool.
Thank you for your kind words! Please check out more CNC art videos on my channel. I also made a silly video of 11 things that the CNC was not designed for: th-cam.com/video/Yr_pqVT7_e8/w-d-xo.html
Ah yes, they already send me whatever I need. I don't ask for much; just some new router bits or a new Carbide3D T-shirt every now and then, and sometimes replacement parts that are broken. They provide excellent customer service and are really friendly. Besides I wouldn't be able to fit another CNC machine in my tiny little shed anyway. :)
Your abilities never cease to amaze me. Your truly an artist with limitless imagination! One change I would have made was putting dragon scales on upper portion of handle with the cnc, but it turned out amazingly as you completed it as always.
Thank you! I have to admit that I'm not very good with 3D design. I use Meshmixer, which is very user-friendly and intuitive (almost like sculpting clay). There are many videos on TH-cam explaining the basic features that use, much better then I could. Making such a video would be an incredible amount of work for me, and I prefer to spend that time on woodworking. :)
Thank you for your kind words! Each of my projects take a lot of time to plan, design, make and create the video, so I can't post any faster than this. I'm testing your patience! ;)
Yet another amazing work of art. I'm left in two minds after watching your videos. Not sure whether to sell my Shapeoko and take up golf or to try my biggest project yet!! You're on a different level mate.
Thank you for your kind words! I suggest going for your second option: try your biggest or most sophisticated project yet. I'm here to inspire and make you realize what is possible, once you start thinking outside the box, as the only limitation is your imagination. Looking forward to your creations! :)
Master Dennis (Yes, I'm of Irish Decent), you have a great creative mind! In which State do you live in? Or are you outside of the US? I am also curious to which University you attended to get your CAD and CNC knowledge? I can't imagine someone actually self teaching this knowledge, however, I guess that is possible? I could never do it, I am a poor ready. Always have been. I've always learned things on my own with the hands on method, and lots of mistakes to learn by.
Thank you for your kind words! To answer your questions: I live in California, but was born and raised in The Netherlands (I love Ireland, and the people there are so incredibly friendly); I moved to the US about 13 years ago. I attended the University of Utrecht to get my masters and PhD; but not in CAD or CNC. I got my degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, with a PhD in Biochemical Physiology. Woodworking is just a hobby of mine, and I support you in teaching yourself anything you want! As you mentioned: don't be afraid of making mistakes. I made tons of mistakes, and still do. :)
> got the dragon model from TurboSquid That's a 3D scan of Alduin, The World Eater, the antagonist of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That statue came with the collector's edition of the game.
Interesting... I don't play computer games, so I wouldn't know. But since it is a "world eater," I might have to hide my 3D Earth globe from him, so he doesn't eat it. th-cam.com/video/3wOF3UhW9fA/w-d-xo.html
I was wondering if you get commissioned for the art you make and sell it, make whatever you please and sell it, or make whatever you please and keep it?
Hey Mikey, that is so generous of you and a really kind gesture! But no, I do not have a Patreon. Being appreciated by people like yourself is the most rewarding. I aim to inspire, and comments like yours make it all worth it. Thank you for watching and your support! :)
Thank you! Unfortunately, it's not for sale. I rarely sell my pieces of art, and only recently decided to post the 4 violins out of olive wood (th-cam.com/video/5iP2bkFUj94/w-d-xo.html) on Etsy. I do have a website: topoarts.com, but haven't uploaded all my artwork there just yet (working on it!).
I'm sorry, but I only share files of the projects I have made available as DIY projects; for instance, the sea shell box (th-cam.com/video/BXWihtBl9x0/w-d-xo.html), or the butterfly (th-cam.com/video/Aj4ZW0sDotA/w-d-xo.html).
As a by the by, you really dont need to do any roughing - you could use a tapered ball not with 75mm long shank it has a cutting width of 32mm or a 100mm long shank with cutting width of 60 mm save yourself some time!!!!!
Thanks for the suggestions! Olive wood is very hard, and my personal experience is that I get better results and put my machine under less strain when doing a roughing pass with this kind of wood. :)
@@dennisvanhoof9958 Give it a try you will be surprised, I was very sceptical when it was suggested to me as well. I do single pass carving with Red Gum, Mallee Root, Oak pretty much any hard wood I come across. As it was explained to me by an old timer, if the full cutting width of the cutter wasn't intended to be used why put it there. The benefit of using the full cutting width of the tapered ball nose is due to its design it pre cuts ahead of the actual ball nose. That way the ball nose has always a stress free cutting zone. If you decide to give it a try would love to know how you go. Your CnC router works very well, I think that is due to the way you maintain the machine and do your work. I have watched many of your videos and your work ethic and the way you go about creating your works of art is to be commended. My favourite is your violin build. Have a great day and greetings from the colonies downunder. th-cam.com/video/By5v7eHIy-I/w-d-xo.html this video shows single pass. You will notice it is not the standard ball nose. Tapered End Mill R1.0*D8*60*100L*2F Tungsten Carbide Steel 100mm 1pcs 2 Flutes. I use the 100mm shank for deep carving when I need a lot of clearance, otherwise the 75 mm length shank is perfect for most of my jobs. Doing a single pass and saving time also means for me at least that I can afford the time to use the 1mm radius, I've not had a reason to use .5mm radius yet.
I love it! Especially the fact that it was made with CNC.

Hands down the most inspiring CNC artist on TH-cam.
fantastic, fantastic, fantastic...
This guy has unbelievable talent, I have not seen anyone doing anything close to this.👍
Zonder thumbnail of titel wist ik al dat deze video weer een topper zou zijn, bedankt voor de inspiratie
Bedankt voor de lovende woorden! :)
Very creative, no run-of-the-mill projects here.
That's right! :) No need to post more of the usual stuff; there is plenty of that out here on TH-cam already.
Only one thing exceeds the beauty of this project, the Next one, don't stay too much, I'm holding my breath!
All I will say about my next project is: you're right. It exceeds everything I've made so far. ;)
Beautiful
I don’t even watch your videos before liking them, I know I’m in for a treat regardless :)
likewise, I will be back tonight to watch this video, time never enough time. But I know it will be good.
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Hi Dennis great to see you again, and another beautiful clever creation, thank you 👍😊
@Ray Eagle Thank you for your kind and supportive words! :)
Tja net als altijd in 1 woord te omschrijven... Geniaal!
Bedankt voor de lof!

I was wondering if you get commissioned for the art you make and sell it, make whatever you please and sell it, or make whatever you please and keep it?
I keep most of my art. It's kind of hard to separate from these pieces. :)
Amazing 🤩👍👍
Your 500th like I gave it to you. Carlos Pina from Brazil.
Thank you! Much appreciated. Now heading for 1000. :)
Amazing work would you sale the vectric files for this project

Yes, born and raised in The Netherlands. :)
Nou je maakt echt super mooie projecten op je CNC.

Thank you for the great 3d craving tips and tricks.

Sorry, just way too busy these days trying to balance the time for my work and hobbies with my family and friends.

Where are you buying your olive wood from?
I bought it on Etsy from a supplier in Turkey, called "OliveWoodSupply" (www.etsy.com/shop/OliveWoodSupply)
