Thank you for your kind words! My software skills are actually pretty basic. That's why I usually start by buying a 3D design that comes close to what I'm looking for, and then make basic modifications using Meshmixer, so that it's compatible with my CNC (dimensions, angle, etc.). There are plenty of videos about the basics of Meshmixer that explain the features much better than I can. Lastly, I watched all the VCarve tutorials on the Vectric website. They are very clear and explain everything there is to know about how to use the software for creating tool paths. Hope this helps! :)

    • @dennisvanhoof9958
      @dennisvanhoof9958  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Thank you! I agree with you on the price.
I'm estimating about $800 for the wood, $100 for the epoxy and equipment (cups, spatulas, brush, latex mat, etc.) and another $100 all other stuff (glue, varnish, dowels, etc.), so I'd say $1,000 or so, if you have a working setup and all the required bits.
But that doesn't come even close to the labor, which is about 40 days of 10 hours each at, let's say $50 per hour; this equates to $20,000.
And then I'm not even mentioning the time it took to modify the 3D model and design all the individual tool paths. That would be approximately 3 weeks of evening hours, so maybe an additional $3,000.
Take into account the wear of the machine and bits, as well as the time and investment it took me to be able to do this (purchasing and learning the software, and the machine) as well as the artistic component (its uniqueness, how many others would be able to make this, the blood sweat and tears, and so on), and it quickly becomes priceless. :)
As you can imagine, I would not sell this for $30,000. ;)

Too awkward to record that on video. ;)

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us,
      1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
      Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
      John 1:10

Very true. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (and the creator). Some might think a piece of art is worthless, while someone else might think it is the most astonishing piece ever made. Then it also depends on the effort and time the artist spent, as well as the uniqueness of the piece. All very subjective, and in the end, it comes down to the feelings and emotions that need to be expressed in currency to come up with a price. Not an easy task! ;) Oh yeah, and on top of that, I also always like to add a technical engineering challenge to my projects.

This is craftmanship at its finest... And on all levels. Until I started trying to make props myself, I never realizes how involved it was. But to be so talented at videography and editing is a whole other beast. You made this look easy. Very well put together video. May the algorithm be generous to you. Thank you for sharing a portion of your knowledge.

    Beautiful job.
One suggestion i will make though, Look into getting some rubber tubing. You can use the rubber tubing to clamp odd shapes together, it wont harm your work, or be as awkward as the clamps and you can also control the pressure that it applies.
