A big part of Canada's national mythos/identity is about being one of the only countries to have beaten America in a war (1812) and otherwise being better than the US. That's like the main thing. Which is stupid nationalist claptrap, sure, but it will definitely make this an interesting time.
When I was a child, at school in Poland in Europe, they taught me that the first economies in the world prefer a tariff-free market because they can afford it and it is profitable. I don't know how the US is going to benefit from tariffs on goods from Europe and the rest of the world. I understand that this is about moving American companies back to the USA. But how will the average citizen benefit from this in, say, 10 years? I don't see it, but I probably don't know anything about economics.
You could have, but didn’t. Unfortunately if you knew you were in the good times, and that worse times were coming, you would have known enough to be mad at how bad those good times really were for a lot of people living them. Just be grateful this doesn’t apply outside of politics. When you’re with a loved one, you really can know that both of you will die, and appreciate the moment more.
@Vaush They speak french because Quebec was a founding member of Canada and they fought for at least 150 years to have their rights respected by the rest of Canada, which includes speaking french and being represented by people capable of speaking french. I mean, saying "Quebec whined until it was mandated that MPs speak french" is extremely reductive and is akin to say that black people whined until segregation was abolished, during the civil rights movement.
It will affect everyone that has economic ties with America; which is to say it will affect almost every first world nation and most second world nations.
The dark woke stuff kind of reminded me of shoes most recent vid. Got the impression she'd very much disagree with the concept since that video seemed more like she was saying the left is too mean to conservatives already.

American Caligula
NL is going to have a field day with this one. yurp
Tariff targets should consider revocation of intellectual property of tech companies.
There are natural consequences to our actions.
Wheremiah?
Tariff will be a curse word when it goes thru.

I wish there was a way to know you're in the good times before you've actually left them

Trump keeps saying inflation was low in his first term even while using tariffs….ignoring the effect of the pandemic on inflation.
I missed it I didn’t even get a notification he went live. Well hooray tariffs

I appreciate the clarification as a person living in Quebec, although it is funny to hear it reductively too if it's meant in jest 😆
Any chance these tariffs indirectly affect Britain?
they will affect the entire globe

@socialenigma4476 Damn, why can't Orangeman leave us alone. I've only just settled down with a job and place of my own.

Well she married a nazi so she probably just don’t want people to be mean to her husband 🤷♂️
we aren't mean enough to conservatives tbh, not even close.
But why does he always say Kaythey Hochul??
