I remember sitting on the floor at my cousins house at night, with a Kid’s Cuisine, playing this on his little TV, VCR combo that he had. What I wouldn’t give to go back to those days. One of the best video games ever made that’s full of the best video games ever made. To have this one cartridge back in the 90’s with all of these classic Mario games completely re-done in 16 bit was just astounding.
This was my first exposure to the Super Mario Bros. series and video games in general. I've had an SNES and this game when I was a toddler and now, twenty years later, we're getting a full-blown Super Mario Bros. movie which I'm honestly very hyped for.
13 year old me is super happy seeing this game again. Super Mario Bros. 3 is my all time favorite. The hype leading up to its release was insane. And we didn't even have the internet back then. It was all word of mouth!
3 is the best because it feels like a large scale adventure in all of it's grand simplicity fraught with danger thrown in your face. To me that's Mario and Luigies greatest adventure of all time and Suoer Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is Yoshi's greatest adventure of all time. Let's all be honest here basically.. The most beautiful and best Mario game Mario ever stared in is Yoshi's Island. But sense you o ly play as him 1% of the time in the game, people probably don't count it. xD but hey! At least you get to play as him. The world Yoshi lives in so beautiful and practically the idea of a heaven. A beautiful fairytale It's no easy task to 100% every level in that game. The challenge is there and so beautiful. To all those who haven't played it go get it for a Super Nintendo when you can. =]

Super Mario All Stars is one of those rare exceptions where I'll take it over the original games. Adding the upgraded graphics with added backgrounds and details like the grass blowing pleasantly in.the wind is apsolutely great. The instrumental music while still being soft and cozy. The stars twinkling at night. All so beautiful. Also the ability to save your game is just clearly great. Imagine always taking the time and having the time to play Super Mario Bros 3 in one go. That's funny. =}
You know why we dont remember the depression of 1995? Because of this game and many others. We just had 2 or 3 snes games, buy they made sure to make us feel like if it was the very first time we were playing them each time we played them. Nowdays you "own" like 50 games on steam, and you end up playing just 1.

Nintendo needs to be celebrated a LOT more, even with the Switch (pun intended) they remain relevant, creative and continue to produce quality content. Mario has NEVER missed.
Id say the only thing it misses in the classic 2D style Mario games is bosses as of late. They need to bring more original bosses into the mix instead of having the koopa kids cause they have been the bosses for 4 games in a row now.

It's weird because it's a re-skin of a different game called Dokie Dokie Panic. The REAL SMB2 was the Lost Levels and originally only available in Japan.
I had this game when I had the snes and I played it for hours. I also bought the Wii version. I 💘 it that it came with 4 Mario 🎮. I bought the switch and I bought both the online and extension package. I still play Super Mario All Stars for hours. It brought back great memories. I 💘 Mario and his brother Luigi. I have been a Mario fan since I was a kid playing the original Donkey Kong on my Atari 2600. I bought all The Mario 🎮 on my Switch. Mario is the best. Go Mario and Luigi. I hope that Nintendo will release Super Mario Galaxy 2 to the Switch.
I can clearly remember how I just sat there in awe after experiencing the SNES version of the classic Mario game for the first time. We only had a NES, while friends of mine already had the SNES. The whole mushroom kingdom felt alive suddenly. I tried to reach out for mountains in the background, i was amazed by the the depth of the horizon, by the little animations of grass waving in the wind, by the vividnessof of the characters. I couldn't take my eyes of it. It was a pivotal moment.
I've often wondered what the cast is talking about at the title screen. If you wait long enough before pressing start, Mario will look out to the side at you with a "You know what we're talking about..." look when we clearly don't
3:00:40 finally I have a chance to see someone matching 3 mushrooms for a 2-up. (No one has ever been able to matching that, but I've seen 5-up mostly all the time. However, rarely do seeing 3-up as well.)

This was a smart release for Nintendo. Miyamoto only made Super Mario World for SNES. Yeah, we got Yoshi’s Island (dubbed SMW2 in the US but we knew better) and Donkey Kong Country 1-3 to help fill those voids slightly, but NES got 3/4 Super Mario Bros. games, and SNES only 1. All-Stars was a pretty cool solution. Same games but 16 bit remakes to bring all the games together, so it still felt kinda new.
The Lost Levels is the one game that got me grounded when I was 10 .....when my mom heard me yell out and say .."Damn you Mario ...you Stereotypical Italian Bastard!"

You know this was an SNES game because you can _hear_ the SMW in the SMB "Underwater" theme, so this is one I would like to play in more depth.
