I have watched at least 10 different quilter’s binding tutorials. Your lesson to join the ends along with the Binding Boss ruler is so easy to follow! I will recommend it to anyone attaching binding! Thank you ❤ It comes out perfectly matched and joined every time! I own another binding ruler that always confused me with labels A and B. 🤦♀️ thank you so much!!!😊
I used to have such a hard time with the two ends and get so frustrated with binding in general, so it makes me very happy to know my rulers are helping you enjoy the process more!! Thank you SEW much!
This my 3rd binding since I got the rulers. I can’t believe how much nicer my quilts look now. I finally gave in and increased stitch length and that’s a game changer too. Thank you so much Gina for making these and your great teaching videos!
Love your trimmer. I have done hundreds of quilts with machine binding and find that using a stiletto really helps with accuracy when sewing it on the machine. :)
I am in the middle of making a king size quilt. The are going together soon. I am going to try and follow the pattern. But them together. since it will be a large quilt. Then place baking and binding. This video really is helping me lots. To join the backing am going to make a star shape in the middle of the blocks. The blocks will be quilted before the back is on. I did a queen size quilt. Lets say it wasn't fun putting it together. I was hoping I could do quilt as you go. I may do it. Depending how to sew the blocks together. Guess it depends on my mood. Or what will be easier. Thank you so much for your skill, help. kindness
I am trying your binding rulers this week. I do my binding by machine sewing to the back 1st. So do I sew it on by leaving a scant quarter inch on the back? Just want to make sure I do it right. Thanks
Yes, so from the back side just have you binding edge coming in a scant quarter and then when you fold it over you’ll follow that stitch line from the front. Sew a small amount first to test, fold it over to the front and then you can make sure before you do all 4 sides that it lands how you want it. Thanks for purchasing ❤ happy new year
I use invisible thread in the bobbin and matching thread to the binding in the top. It makes the back stitching virtually unnoticeable on the back, so the imperfections don’t drive me crazy.
It does really depend on the project, but mostly I love the way hand binding is invisible, no matter how hard I try I can't get that look with the machine.
When you machine bind, do you ever attach to front, flip binding to the back and then stitch in the ditch from the front to do the final attachment? I just got my Binding Buddy and Scant ruler. Looking forward to using them for 1st time on quilt that i have on my longarm!
No, I don’t like the look of the stitch the other way. I like to be able to work on the front so I can see the stitch line as I go. Thank you for trying my rulers! ❤️❤️❤️
It would be awesome if at the QR code spot you had very short clips of how to line up the binding boss. One for strip joins, one for corners and one for completing the perimeter. For some reason when I pick up the binding boss I am “what do I do now?” and end up hunting through the complete videos. I am sure the more I use it the less this will happen, but in the meantime….
I do not understand how you used the scant 1/4 while cutting here. It’s different than the other video. How is the ruler different than a regular ruler ?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I will try to clarify. The trimming ruler has a lip on one side so when you place it up to the quilt top it buts up to the edge without moving, this allow you to trim around the quilt leaving a scant 1/4 around the entire quilt, so that batting and backing that is left helps fill the 2.5" binding strip on both sides so equal amounts are left on both front and back. So it is not like other rulers, it has a little Iip.
I use 2.5” strips. I have a full tutorial explaining all about the binding strips in my Part 1 video th-cam.com/video/0e-WFqBmbu8/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Did you watch Part 1, and part 3? Those might give you a better view. Also I have several short reels on my Instagram that you can check out too. Part 1 - th-cam.com/video/0e-WFqBmbu8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Qmqhrbl0IKzWNs54 Instagram - instagram.com/gina_tell_threadgraffiti/reels/
I have to say I love this ruler set. First time I could actually join the binding on a smaller project. Thank you!
This is wonderful news! Thank you and happy binding! 😊
Thank you Gina!!
I love that you aren't always perfect either and showed me how to fix that little ripple!
I think it’s important to see the errors! Thanks for watching ❤️

this is so great!! thank you for sharing!
If your machine has an edge stitching foot, it is very useful when stitching on the binding to the front of the quilt.
Perfect I can't wait to use my rulers. Great video
Wow! Thank you for all the amazing binding tips! I love my rulers! 🙂
Thanks for supporting my quilting journey!
Thank you for showing how to achieve that beautiful full binding look! Love the rulers!! Very informative video!
You are so welcome! ❤
Thanks for the tip with the iron And pin tucks

Great demonstration using your rulers and binding technique! I'm also liking your iron 😊
Binding looks great. Thanks for video
I received my scant 1/4” ruler this past weekend. Excited to trim a quilt.
I hope you loved it!

Very happy with my binding! Love the rulers. Thank you
Great video series! Thanks for taking on difficult topic …with details! I loved “fix” b/c those thing’s really happen and I don’t know what to do!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching ❤

Im glad you found something that works for you, quilting is the best because there is no wrong answer!!
I prefer hand binding as well. But then it depends on purpose of quilt.
It does really depend on the project, but mostly I love the way hand binding is invisible, no matter how hard I try I can't get that look with the machine.
I have had success using invisible monofilament thread in the bobbin. Solves the problem of the bottom thread not looking perfect. 37:54 37:54
I have used it also, but not for a while, good tip!

If you look down in the description box, I have each step time stamped, I think that's what you mean. let me know if not. Thanks for watching!
Cool ruler!! Is it as easy to use as you make it look?
absolutely, and it's on sale for the holiday too! Thread-Graffiti.com
I am left handed does the ruler work the same way for left handed people.
yes, it is the same either way.

What size did you cut the binding strip?

Need close ups to see the edge
