  • My wait is over! Like many, Ariel Rider has been suffering in the logistics realm. Even tougher than usual to be manufacturing and/or shipping products lately. However, I got my Grizzly yesterday and thought I'd share my impressions. TLDR is: excellent bike! Love it! Plus, a few caveats.

    Great review subscribed! Loved you’re enthusiasm about the bike! I have the 52v and I love it! And finally a reviewer talking about safety gear! I’m all about it! Wear full on motorcycle gear including a full face helmet! Nothing more important than to be safe!

      Cool! I'm thinking main difference between your bike and Grizzly is acceleration to top speed, not top speed. And yes on safety grear. I now have winter riding over-pants with knee armor, plus a class 2 chest protector. Concern with full face helmet is attracting attention from police. I ride conservatively, but at full speed. Don't need to get pulled over on my commute to reach elementary, please!

    Three rides in one day is a testament to the bike itself. I can only get away with one ride a day. - I just received the X Class (48v) last week and it is more fun than I imagined it would be. - I have to check out the shirts with the body armor. I wear a full helmet, with knee pads and elbow pads, but that sounds like a good idea too. - Good review!

    I wasn't able to comment on your new 1000+k miles video, but what kind of tires are those new ones that you put on?! They look awesome. Also, I'm wondering how difficult it is to change them out.

    Nice to see the bikes being delivered. Good 8nformatibe video.
    I have an x52 due in November.
    I'll be needing the higher up bars though, due to a spine injury I can't lean forward with the lower bars.
    If you want to sell the ones you took off the grizzly hit me up!

      Sure thing. LMK how you want to connect. Happy to get the bars to you. I had a major back surgery (fusion) when I was 20 after 6 years of pain, so I totally get it. Stay well.

    Would you recommend it over a escooter? I like the option to pedal if my battery dies like it has before on my scooters I also love the puncture resistant tires that’s a plus. I have the kaabo wolf x not as much range and I can’t pedal if battery dies

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't say over a scooter as I don't have experience. In terms of battery, it depends on how far you are going. On the one hand, with two batteries, this thing has tons of juice. On the other hand, it's not really meant to be pedaled in a real way. In a pinch you could do it, but not fun. It's a really cool bike for sure!

    • @Mr.Thermistor7228
      @Mr.Thermistor7228 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea these are really not meant to be peddled hardly at all. the peddle positioning is very poor on all these as there all mostly not meant for peddling and only peddling with electric assistance

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I think it's mostly the supply chain nightmare that most companies are facing. I had to wait three weeks for a car part that normally takes three days max.

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidmericle1125 I'd say they are designed for the street but would do okay on a well-maintained dirt road. I wouldn't take them in sand, gravel, etc. I really like them for my road riding for sure.

    Can u tell us the website where u purchased the handle bars and stem from??!

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stem was just a mtb stem from my local bike shop, and bars are actually off the original stock Himiway. I have them tilted forward a bit to extend the reach farther. If you search online for "gull wing mtb bars" you'll find many.

    Can you change the twist throttle for a thumb type?

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think so. I have not watched this video, and it's about a different bike, but I've found his videos useful for that bike on other topics, and here he swaps twist for thumb. However, I find twist very comfortable on my 8 mile commute ride. I can imagine thumb being better for more dynamic situations off road though. th-cam.com/video/EPhAltkfwqQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My order was confirmed May 24, arrived Oct. 8, so 4.5 months. I think Ariel Rider is having the same supply chain nightmare as everyone. They were always responsive to my emails. I think they are doing their best.

  • @ggqs753

    I bought one of these I am 6'2 300 pounds... And even I get spin outs from the front wheel from time to time if I'm not careful

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Validating! I feel like they could program a 1-2 second's throttle-down from 0-7 mph when both motors are engaged, and it would solve this problem while still allowing wicked acceleration. I'm just spitballing, and there may be technical hurdles I'm unaware of, but that would be ideal imho. Ariel is creating cool stuff and is probably working on it.

    • @robmorrill1
      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I lost one of the caps for the Grizzly. Need replacements. For the Himiway, I took the screw-down grips off that for the Grizz--that's why those bars are bare.

      @robmorrill1  2 ปีที่แล้ว
