- Here’s a video on how I replace a head gasket on a lawn tractor. Enjoy!
All the work I do is for entertainment purposes. Make sure you always refer to the service manual for which the way I do things may not be the proper way. If you choose to duplicate what I do, you are doing it at your own risk.

Wish I would have found this sooner before I took the whole throttle linkage and having trouble getting it back together
Bummer, hope everything worked out. Thanks for watching!
@@DIGGINGDEEP007 having trouble finding a good picture of how everything goes but together
Pull up the service manual online.
Good video sir.
I just finished this on a Kohler CV 730 mine was a little easier. I put the engine on a Murray 40 inch cut. Plus it has dual exhaust. I had a valve job on both heads since I had both off. Not a difficult job. The CV 730 has hydraulic lifters so no need to reset the rocker arms.
Ty for the great video 😊
@@louisbaladez1186 you’re welcome! Thanks for watching!

You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Just did mine looks like I put the gasket on wrong I put the flat side up should that matter mine still runs bad mite be the other side is blown to
THANK YOU
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!!!
Kohler saved $1 on these gaskets! If there was a flame ring around the hole in the gasket for the cylinder, they would last a lot longer! Mine went bad at 130 hours. Junk! I’ll stick to Briggs & Stratton!
I very very much agree with you
It’s made to fail for sure
I use a peace of hd glass and sheet of sand paper to resurface them if not very bad
I have a piece of glass from a refrigerator shelf.
Head Gasket link is in the description.
So you don’t tighten the rock arms and leave them loose?
what grid sand paper do you use to making sure the head was flat? Good show thanks!!!!
I’m not around the shop currently, but I do believe 600 grit wet sand. Thanks for watching!
600 grit
I use 150 and it does a job. I use on head as he did and on the block with sand paper wrapped around a flat file. Works great.
I refuse to only replace one head gasket on a V twin because the other side will give up and there unhappy customers
My way or the highway
Understand, I always give the customers the option recommending both.
What's the difference between the two push rods? Why can't they be mixed?
I’ll be honest, I could never tell any difference, but in a lot of service manuals they tell you not to mix them up. Honestly, I have dropped them before I had them marked and put them back with no issues. Thanks for watching!
They’ve lapped themselves together when running and will wear out much faster if you mix them up since they’ll be out of shape and have to re-lap.
New head gasket number would be nice because I can’t read it that fast on phone
Link in the description. Thanks for watching!
Does kit come with both head gaskets
What polishing head is that? Thank you for the great video
What grit is that sand paper?
@@cueballsi I do believe 220. Thanks for watching!
What grit sand paper?
320 grit. Thanks for watching!
320 grit. Thanks for watching!
