What luck! I have had one of these for over 30 years and today I took it apart and pieces fell out onto the bench before I could get a picture of it all. So I searched for a reel of this name and BAM! Very cool. I got it back together and it works like new. Good video.
Up dated ….. I finally disassemble this Coriolis today after watching your video on this reel a few days back. My disassembly and service went far beyond your brief overview. A few points on servicing. Go ahead and remove the spool side half . There is a bearing on the shaft. Which will be oil and should wipe off spool shaft going into pinion gear. When you remove the main gear , drag, etc. And the drive shaft is bare. It has a shinny plate with 3 screws that holds it to the frame. If you remove the screws the shaft will pull straight out. It has a brass bushing clean & oil. It sits in a cavity in the frame which has a small drain hole ? The anti reverse dawg can be put on slightly off and will engage with finger pressure. But I don’t belive it would hold under a load. Definitely take a picture or make a note orn how it is positioned on the frame. I had to use your video for the sequence of washers & nut under the reel handle. It seemed like I was missing a part. But I wasn’t , just a odd arrangement under the handle. Thanks again for taking time to make this video.
Sorry I missed your comment request for the extra info. I'm glad you tackled it successfully. It is always a trade-off on how much detail to show in a service video. If yours was dirty or had some older grease, it is always best to go deeper and remove / clean each part as you proceed, just as you did. I expect your comments may help the next guy! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Thanks for taking time out of your day to make this video. The one thing you didn’t show the acces to the spool. I take it when you unscrew the thumb screws . That will loosen up the left side plate ? My reel doesn’t have that Flipping Lever. Thanks again
I poked around on the Internet for a little bit, but could not find the answer to your question. Someday, if I run across it, I’ll post the information as a comment here , but for now the answer is I just don’t know. I’m sure it was top-of-the-line reel, but… Thanks for watching and commenting!
