GREAT video Jake. A lot of these reels are still floating around out there, but there's a dearth of videos on how to maintain and repair them. On newer baitcasters, today many people are modding their reels by replacing the stock "spool shaft bearing" with high performance ceramic bearings. The ceramic bearings greatly improves casting distance, an improvement the old Magnumlite 2000GT can certainly benefit from. Spool shaft bearings on newer reels are easier to access than older reels like the Magnumlite. You do a great job in your videos (parts 2 & 3) in showing how to access the spool shaft bearing on the crank side. I would love to see a Part 4 so that I can see how to access the bearing on the opposite side. Thanks again Jake for your wonderful videos.
Thanks. I still use mine every time I fish, and that's in fresh and salt. It's amazing that it still works after all these years. I have considered buying a new reel because of the casting performance of this magnumlite is not as great as the newer reels. But, I have so many memories with this thing dating back to when my dad yelled at me for paying 80 bucks on a reel. You get what you pay for, and if you take care of your things, good quality will last a lifetime. Do you know if its possible to get those ceramic bearings for this old reel?
I have a different model but basically works the same. I bought two back in mid 80s. Just got them out again this week after years. Anti reverse doesn’t work in one of them. Many thanks for your videos, you saved my bacon. Of course parts flew everywhere and I spent hours trying to figure out where things went back. Thanks again.

You were just getting to the best part. Parts 1,2 and 3 taught me a tremendous amount but making a video for one person would be a waste of your time. Thanks for the three parts anyway.
Great tutorial! Reel is good for another 30 years! I try only to buy lightly used Japanese reels, I have a Quantum Smoke, not cheap, will it be here in 30 years, no way, my Abu Revo (not Swedish made) will also be dead, quality is always quality!
My dad got me this reel in 1987 for my bday. Haven't used it in 28 years. Thank you for taking the time to film and share this.

I planned on making part 4, but wanted to wait and see if there was a big demand for it. It takes time to do the filming and editing.
