My father and I have thoughts on LS swapping out YJ...how much did it run you guys to make it possible??
Champy US Well it starts off with a junkyard motor for $500 and from there it really depends on your budget and how creative you can get. You have to price out the big items, motor, trans, cooling system. Then there will be a ton of smaller priced items that could add up fast. Its possible to make it happen for around $4k and finding used parts and some donor items from friends.
I just finished mine and paying for all new adapters from Novak plus 2k for motor/trans/harness from junkyard I’d say about 7-8k th-cam.com/video/35-vGLggHCY/w-d-xo.html

What's the name of that tool radiator filler upper air sucker doohickey thing?
Its a Cooling System Vacuum Filler tool. Excellent for finding leaks in your system before you add coolant.

I like to drill and tap radiator cap for pipe thread. The I put a air gage on, then a regulator. I like to pressurize the system just a few psi over the radiator cap rating. About 20 psi. If you charge the system to 100psi compressor pressure something valuable is going to blow up. I also put a T- fitting with a valve between the radiator and the regulator so I can bleed the pressure off when I am done

Its a Brian Tooley BTR NSR cam. We can track down the part number if needed.

What headers did Blake use? I’m in the middle of a YJ LS swap and can’t find any
I used a set of headman headers but if you plan on keeping 4wd they won’t work for you because the front driveshaft gets in the way of the tubes
Novak has some I was looking at the other day, but I haven't called them to confirm.

No we decided to not go 4x4 at this time.
@@gasratzcustoms What did you do with the front axle? Just unhook the drive shaft?
Yeah it’s just unhooked and spinning freely. It hasn’t caused an issue yet. But we do plan to do a solid front axle like an old school gasser drag car.
