Beautiful catches of the heritage diesels! I've sewn 37418 before twice! Once when it was in BR Logo livery with Caroline coach at Clapham Junction, and once at Hastings in Loram livery with Caroline again! 😄 The 20's are legends but I don't know what's better there, either 20 or 37's because they're both equally rare, special & noisy! 😂 Nice to see 45 aswell on a Yorkshire Heritage Railway! 🙂
Cheers matey for your excellent comment on my video, I think the 37s are a little in front when it comes to great sounds, Thank you very much for watching my video.
Fantastic video mate.i was on a few that day.shame the 20s didn't come back on Saturday afternoon as I was at pickering .didn't realise untill we moved off😢
Great video there Mike & some stunning scenery, thought I saw Claude Greengrass at one point😎Nice to see a 47 & 31 running along with the others.Cheers for making the trip up to Yorkshire.Regards Dave👍🏼
Wonderful Mike, this is an excellent video and having watched it just now can relate to all the places you were explaining about last night, Super stuff
Wow Mike!! Incredible video there and some absolutely stunning shots in some beautiful countryside too!! The sounds were amazing looks like they had some brilliant locos on offer there to!
Gutted I missed this one. It would have been pushing it if I came. But it certainly looks like you had a good one Mike. Scenery and locos looking great. At least the sheep gave you company 🐑
Yes Ben I knew when you watched the video you would be disappointed you didn't make it, but I understand your situation after been away. Yes it was well worth getting up early for this gala, regards Mike.
Superb viewing Mike, you found some great locatios, some i know, and some not seen before a few miles covered i would say, they should have more diesel galas, hope to go to KWVR this weekend, nice one, Steve . 👍
Yes Steve I do hope this one did well for them, then they may do another in a few years and not have to wait another ten years. I really enjoyed my day there. Thank you for watching and your comment Steve, ATB Mike.
Thanks for sharing another great video Mike. I don't know how you managed to avoid the rain mate but glad you did. Looking forward to part two mate, Cheers, Colin.
Cheers Bryan, I did have a problem remember the places as it being ten years since I last went, but with some help I found them. A very enjoyable day I had, cheers Mike.
Well i look forward to part two because part one was amazing Mike. Wow the 47 was very claggy, lovely combo with the 20's and 31466 there i do think 37418's livery is very smart.I thought the Sheep looked a little peeky haha! Great shots and fantastic locations really enjoyed, cheers Nick.
Morning Nick thanks for your quietly comment, yes I had a excellent day which was a very long one, leaving home at 04.28 back at 22.40, but I was very lucky with the weather, that lamb was looking for its mom which I didn't film when they meet. I think as the locos have to work so hard on that line all was clagging a lot but I do agree the 47 reminded me when they worked the XC trains years ago. I was well pleased when I read 37418 was attending this gala as I hadn't seen it in that livery. Regards Mike.
Outstanding locations for these shots, Mike, you did very well here and "dryish" too, everything has grown about 8 inches more than normal with aĺll the rain and so thanks for sharing these belting clips Mike , looking forward to part two 👍👍👍😊 ATB Ian 😊
Thank you very much Ian, yes it all worked out great as I remembered a few places from ten years ago but I wanted to try a new location which I wasn't sure if I could get there. That long shot of the 47 was just luck in finding that location in the morning and went back in the afternoon. I just hope they do another Diesel gala before I get to old to get up there as its a lot to do in one day, regards Mike.
Thanks David its a great railway but a long way for me to get to, and it just a shame they don't do diesel galas very much, but like you I'm happy to see and hear class 37 on this line. ATB Mike.
Awesome shots and captures there Mike! Nice sounds and liveries. Another gooden from you! Wow 37418 sounded amazing! Some good locations as well. Class 20s and 31 as well! That was brilliant. Very nice indeed! Really enjoyed, thanks for sharing! Take care, have an awesome day and all the best! Jamie
Thank you Jamie, it was a long day being away from home for 18.5 hours but getting that footage of them hard working locos was well worth it. I will sort the next video out ASAP, regards Mike.
The livery on that 37 is a total abomination! It would be bad enough having to see it on the main line network but on a heritage line it just looks totally out of place. BR 1960s green please. (Sorry if I'm being somewhat controversial !)
It was brought in as a late replacement for the scheduled Deltic which could not attend due to engine issues. It was at pretty short notice so not a lot of choice. '' Laura Strangeway, Acting CEO at NYMR said: Sometimes things beyond our control happen in the railway world and we have to be as agile as possible. We are so excited for the return of our much-loved annual Diesel Gala, and even more so now that Loram and Steven Beniston have graciously stepped in and hired out No. 37418 for the occasion. '' We're pleased to announce that No. 37418 ‘An Comunn Gaidhealach’ will now be a guest locomotive during the Diesel Gala from 14th to 16th June 2024, completing the line-up for this highly-anticipated weekend. Visiting courtesy of Loram and Steven Beniston, this will be the first chance for passengers to ride behind No. 37418 in its striking Loram red and white livery. No. 37418 ‘An Comunn Gaidhealach’ is replacing the previously announced guest locomotive, Deltic No. 55009 ‘Alycidon’, of the Deltic Preservation Society (DPS). Due to a failure of one of the power units and the condition of another, engineers concluded that No. 55009 would be unable to perform on the steep track gradients at the NYMR. It is hoped that, once addressed, the locomotive can be invited back for future events.
@@markwilson8002 Well, we will just have to agree to disagree I suppose my good fellow! I just think that livery is a badly designed eyesore. If you want to see how to paint a loco in red and white which looks classy and has some dignity, look no further than 69009 Western Consort. After all, nobody drives a car with the front end painted a totally different colour from the rear end, Why? Because it would look stupid that's why! lol :)
A great video set in some stunning scenery. Nice mix of motive power. You managed to capture the feeling of the Gala. Well done 🤓
Yes Tony you are right with catching how good that railway is when it comes to the sounds you get of them hard working locos.
Thank you Mike.
Look how green it is. Super footage of the gala. Hopefully the next one won’t be another 10 years.
I did enjoy this day very much as you said 10 years was a long wait so lets hope its not a repeat.

Thank you Peter, I will have a look at your footage.
Absolutely fantastic, Mike. What a gala you had. I've not been to there's. You were in some great locations. Brilliant Mike
Pete it was worth the wait to get such cracking footage and great sounds.
See you soon mate, cheers Mike.

Thank you for watching and your comment Steve, ATB Mike.
Just a bit of a shame that there weren’t more “special” locos at the Gala, most of them have been mainstays at the NYMR previously.
Yes I understand what you are saying Harry, but I was pleased there was a diesel gala, cheers for watching my video.
At this gala Friday and Saturday, it was unbelievably good, matched by this video.
Cheers Michael for your comment, I'm pleased you a excellent time there with them great locos.
I was there on the friday. Good day.
Yes I think it was a super day Russ, cheers for watching.
Mike, Looked a great gala and well captured. Regards, John
Thank you John, it was a long day but well with getting the footage I got, and it rained at the right times, regards Mike.
Thanks for sharing another great video Mike. I don't know how you managed to avoid the rain mate but glad you did. Looking forward to part two mate, Cheers, Colin.
Colin I was lucky as it was between workings, but I had a few downpours driving home.
Thanks for watching, I really enjoyed the day. ATB Mike.
Well chosen locations Mike and excellent traction.

I bet it was awesome
Yes Michael it was a great day apart from getting back home, thanks for watching.
North Star seems to be smoking rather, considering it's just had a top end overhaul
Well yes, but it was a great sight.

We all have our thoughts on that livery, but thank you for watching my video.
Yes it would have been good to see a Deltic on the NYMR again but I was very happy that this loco attending this gala.
Thank you NYMR.
Totally disagree... It's another chapter in the 37s history
