I think jack/irwin pushes his voice to do things John never did. I think early days he used John’s techniques and they have a similar vocal range but that’s where it stops for me. Jack/Irwin pushes his voice, guitar work and his overall musicianship into different areas and hasn’t stopped exploring that. Love the work of both of them, it doesn’t have to be either/or.
He is not talking about how this exact song sounds, it's the techniques that are so similar to John's. And quite a few other songs where he does sound exactly like John. He never said he can hear John Farnham in this one..... Think you need your ears scrubbed out and need to pay better attention to what is being said and not fill in gaps with what you think is being said.
@@theghost6412 Yeah he has said it it many vids,, Go check! he even said irwin was top 5 a few times.. Irwin can sing a but i don't agree that he sounds like john in voice or techniques because he doesn't have either.. JUST SAYING! .

And yes he does sound a lot like Farnham who he heavily idolised when you listen to how and when he uses his vibrato 2/3rds through his vocalisations and quite a few of his inflections are very similar, however you are correct that he is nowhere near the same calibre or level of skill as Farnham. Hell not many are, John stands up with the best singers across the globe and is admired by many world wide greats. Not to sound cruel but Irwin is more a copier using other people's mixed skills that he picks up than anything else. However he did have enough talent for John to notice him which speaks volumes and become a mentor to him.

I don't know enough about singing to compare vibrato.

I can't believe you hear John Farnham in this one! It's not even close to John. John never sang like this.
HE likes Irwin because they spoke in chat. Everyone else knows that Irwin is an average singer, not even close the caliber of Farnsey
