    Wow. Great review and a TON of other interesting and helpful tips that I can only hope I will come to understand as I get into using it. Thanks very much!

    The quarter inch main outputs are balanced on 2 x TRS sockets.

      According to the owner's manual: "The main connectors are unbalanced mono connectors." I always have just used the impedance transformer to get a good output signal. There may be another version I don't know about, however.

    I have also owned this thing for years and for the money it cannot be beat. There are two downsides. There is no power switch but I guess they need to cut costs somewhere. The bigger problem is that the pins in the plug for the power supply can and do bend if you are not careful. You then need to bend them back with needle-nose pliers. This is especially true if you are not the only one that plugs (the dangerous operation) and unplugs the thing, I mean you don't need to be THAT careful. Once one even snapped off but I have an old Behringer Eurorack UB802 that I no longer use (only 2 XLR, no reverb) and it had the same power supply. Watch this if you buy it.

      I agree 100%. You do have to treat the power supply carefully when packing, unpacking and plugging in. So far so good for me. And the lack of power switch just means I plug into a power bar first, then power up the power bar. Cheers!

    I bought this mixer yesterday, plugged it in.. Within 20 or 30 minutes both the mixer and power brick were almost to hot to touch. Thanks again Amazon!

      Send it back... I use this mixer almost on a daily basis... Never overheats.

    Also you get to have long(ish) throw faders to make yourself look more pro.. lol - No matter, you are dead on right that these are very usable tools for the road! I had 20+ years of audio only work myself before the peoples mp3 ears decided audio guys were no longer necessary... i miss the good old days of breaking my back and going without sleep.. i'm jealous that you get to keep trucking on.. smile! Keep up the good work sir!

      Cheers! And thanks for the update info on the mixer - I like the fact it has the battery option. I also worry about the future of smart digital mixers that will take over what the sound people do, once they program them to be smarter - like sense input and set sensitivity themselves, etc. Oh well, I will ride it out for now.

      And I like the faders on the 1002B!

    like your videos, but you should try the 1002B version. its still rugged, but runs on (3) 9v batteries as a backup system for when that funky cheap plug bites the dust... very handy in a pinch!

    so, i can attach a zoom h1 to this and port it around? The power supply? Is there a link for how long it will run or would I have to find a source and not charge on battery? Seems like a decent machine. Handy it break in two. Thanks BUCK! Umm, optional boom hook ups to different mics is another thing I run in to. I don't have a proper boom, it's make shift but gets what i do on a youtube channel done.
    Great channel Buck!

    Great review. Thanks.
    I have the same mixer in my home rehearsal room. I'm going to connect it to two Kustom KCP12MP powered monitors.
    Do I *need* to convert the 1/4 inch to XLR for the main output?
    Or, will two 20 foot unbalanced 1/4 cables be sufficient?

    • @bacontrees
      @bacontrees  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool! I don't think 20 feet is a problem for unbalanced cables. If I needed more than 25, I would go with balanced.....unless I didn't hear any signal degradation, but I just by default choose balanced after 25 feet. Cheers!

    I have a couple non-powered PA speakers. Will those dishes work with this or do I also need an amplifier?

    • @bacontrees
      @bacontrees  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This mixer is non-powered, you would need an amp for those speakers. I have a video on matching amps to speakers, if needed. Cheers!

    hi, did you install a driver for this mixer? in you PC to support the recording software

    • @bacontrees
      @bacontrees  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this one does not have USB to connect to my computer. Or if it does, I have never used it....but I am pretty sure it doesn't.

    Is there aux send option?

    • @bacontrees
      @bacontrees  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has an FX Send, which are usually 'post-fader', so it can be useful for FX.

    At least you have video knowledge and youtube to supplement (not just an audio guy), BUT if the road ever slows down for you, i have a great idea to take our knowledge into a new type pro business that dont exist yet! Register a LINE app account for free video & audio calls/texting/ worldwide communication and then look up (marshallman).. not something i care to share in public forum like this, but seems like a great way for the smart ones to survive the future of computers taking over as they can not compete with humans on this idea.. lol
