Im sitiing here and tears are forming in my eyes The first time i heard this song i was 16 and we the momograms had gone to a practice session in johnnys house in brooklyn What i heard was the voice of an angel and knew he was destined for. a special place in rock and roll history. we miss you johnney one of a kind R.I. P.
Great post May JM & Freddy Ferrara both rest in eternal peace. It is shame that JM is not in the R&R Hall of Fame. In my opinion he was one of the greatest lead voices of the DooWop era, bar none !!!!
This song has haunted me since the first time I heard it back in 1985. I sang it in a high school talent show with my group, The Debonaires, that same year. I guess, maybe, I'll have it played at my funeral one day, hopefully a long time from now. For some reason, my eyes tear up the minute the song begins.
Love this song for sure... Love Johnny's Voice no doubt.. I grew up with this music.. "16 candles" sure takes me back to high school And this song.. Sweetest One.. Fantastic..
thanks TopazDupree. I love the scar. and this man was/is very handsome. I love to watch him and love to hear him sing thanks for the info bout the scar. even in his 70's he was still very attractive... i would of loved to have seen him in concert. he sings from his heart. i couldnt say enough about this man. truly a fine, and classy guy through out the years.

This song is so beautiful.. The man can sing, he can write music and make so many people happy. That is quite an accomplishment!
All these years and still love this song.

Doowopper51 does it again. You are talented my friend. I know where to go when I want to listen to the best music in America. Thanks Dowooper51.
probably my favorite Johnny song. Although depending on mood/day it might be I thank the moon, or Welcome me love. That was music.
It's sad just thinking about all the original singers that have passed away.
And, so missed! A great Guy & Legend
He sure was John, he sure was, they'll never be another one like him to be sure. Love your comment. Thanks for sharing your memory. God Bless.
