Replace not only the tires but the front wheel to at least 19 inches. You can keep both set of wheels. It's not so expensive and will make a big difference.

I’ve just purchased a tiger 660 in Thailand as an Aussie moving there shortly, the pegs and Pirelli scorpions will happen on mine just to cope with any rural road riding on longer trips as sealed roads there can be hit and miss and great or woeful, great videos 👍

I booked this bike last month, but I'm still hesitant to make the purchase due to its low ground clearance, especially for an adventure bike. I understand that it's more of a road-biased tourer rather than a proper off-roader. However, I'm curious if there's any possibility of increasing the ground clearance of the bike. I've noticed that the oil sump is positioned just below, and although it's covered with the SW Motech sump guard, it seems like it might still reduce the ground clearance, making it vulnerable during off-roading. I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.

Only thing you can do is upgrade the suspension at this point... Or wait a year and see if they come out with a rally version of this bike... Rumor is they might. The sump guard is thin metal... Doesn't detract much from ground clearance.
