In Hungarian 'igen' means yes. In Denmark somebody asked me if I understood him. I sad "igen"... so he told it again (igen) :). This song will be one of my favorit songs even if I will be hearing this Igen og igen! :) I just left Denmark yesterday, but I already miss it! :) Vi ses! (I hope at least once again)
Almost a decade late, but I think I recognize their moves. There was a duo that was called "Robotdrengene". They were European champions in these kinda routines. The 2 doing the most advanced moves are them. The rest are "extras"
Saw Nephew live at the Grøn Koncert in Aarhus in summer 2006, which was the same time i think this album was released, great times, amazing memories back when Studying abroad (Denmark)
I was in Denmark in 2006 and 2007 and local radio stations played this all the time, it grew on me so here I am commenting on this catchy song now in 2023. I have this song in my playlist and have no idea what are the lyrics about.

Kristina Labenski I can't find the lyrics translated to english, but I can tell you the main point of the song. Denmark is in an alliance with USA, which nephew is strongly against, he is in the begining saying " perhabs they have dropped us out from an us truck". He is strongly against Denmark joining the war in Irak and the whole song is about forllowing the American steps. He thinks it's a really horrible idea by denmark to forllow the steps into every war, he do not want any danish people suffer for what USA is doing. He mean Denmark is making a "show of" to impress other countries that Denmark is a country which is 0,07% part of the world, but Denmark is equal with sweeden and germany which is much bigger
I love this music, it's a beautiful song, good voice excellent music quality I adore her since I was 4 years old in the 2000s as a child I enjoyed this song, otherwise there is no such hit music from Serbia a big greeting to everyone in Europe who have good quality music from Serbia, greetings from Belgrade
I'm learning Danish and I thought listening to some music might help, I'm loving this! The music is great, and the video kinda reminds me of franz ferdinand :)
I love this song so much and I don't understand half of it. Why can't American groups make music this good. Also I like this video isn't filled with lots of video affects and other junk. It is simple, captivating and completes the song
I came on this song by the video "Harvest in Glenvar" and i had to search a long time to get name of this song and the band, ithink its really really good. the video, i named above has nearly 2 million viewers so i think it seamed to be quiet famous
It depends on what the criteria is for two languages to really be 'separate languages' (vs. language variants, dialects). Our perception of separate languages are heavily influenced politically. I don't speak any Northern Germanic language but from what I've read Danish and Norwegian are somewhat mutually intelligible. Again, it depends on the definition. For instance, Croatian and Serbian are so close there are Norwegian dialects farther apart from each other, yet those are considered dialects.
The Norwegian-Swedish-Danish argument about being similar is likeable to the case of Spanish, Portugese and Italian: most people think they are similar or alike but ist's far from true, and that makes them definitelly different languages which share a common root.
Not really that far from the truth, if you ask linguists that is; the only reason we consider them different languages is because of geopolitical reasons, there are bigger differences between insular dialects than inbetween Scandinavian languages in general, much bigger. There are also much bigger differences between Spanish, Portugese and Italian than inbetween the Scandinavian languages, as mutual intelligibility is only possible if the languages are very similar, and S, P and I aren't mutually intelligible. If you don't think the Scandinavian languages are mutually intelligible then i don't believe you've actually spend adequate time with Danes/Swedes/Norwegians (pick your poison) to have an actually informed opinion about this.
The song seams to deal with being a small country in an international world, this though is true for Nephew in general. The video indeed seams to be heavily inspired by Daft Punk - Around the World, but it also incorporates several elements form Hans Christian Andersen’s story The Steadfast Tin Soldier.
if you search igen og igen lyrics english in google click the first link and then scroll down and theres the danish lyrics in the first line and then roughly translated in the one below
An exchange between generations is always a great thing to see. I wouldn't say you are alone with your oppinion though. Just keep it up and stay with the stream of new influences and you'll never get old. :)
@TheGfxJG Sweden and Norway have their own currency you :S - Yeah, we all use "kroner" but Denmark useds Danish kroner, Sweden, Swedish kroner etc. (F.I. and Greenland uses Danish kroner though, since they are a part of the Danish kingdom).

fed måde at sige det på, at historien gentager sig over og over igen.
You can probably just find the lyrics and put them through Google translate. I don't know Danish, but from the Norwegian I know, it probably means "Again and Again", or something of the sort.
I second this. I'm a Dane as well (Dane = The people that live in Denmark), and there's also the way they say the things in Norway. Where we say Min Mor (My mother, just an Example) they say Moren Min (Mother Mine, Directly translated).
@Rigtigting And you should know that all nationalities and languages are spelled with a capital front letter. For instance; I am English or I speak English fluently.
@MOWGeneral Well... They do have representatives in the Danish government, so I guess in some twisted way they are part of Denmark. But in common speech, they're their own countries =P
I never thought that as an Englishman i would one day love Danish music...awsome song though, must have listned to it 15 times already....
(hello, bet you forgot about this old comment you made)
Guess you could say you listened to it igen og igen og-

awesome video to an awesome song from an awesome band!
Wow, here because of Johans performance in Volbeats For Evigt ....what a truly brilliant vocalist & clever man
Looks like you're mistaken. Johan Olsen is a vocalist of Magtens Korridorer, not Nephew. Nephew's vocalist is Simon Kvamm.
